A few questions

HI there!

I was looking for a good game to play, doesnt care if mmoprg or first person shooter. When i was searching i went like Hey! Let's see how planeshift changed over the years.

I downloaded the client some years before, before crystal blue was released. Now im thinking: should i download it or not?

The problem is my download volume. Its pretty small.


So: how did PS change over those years?

How many players does it have?

What about the pings from austria? good or bad?

is the fighting system good?

Is it faster or slower, easier or more diffucult than World of Warcraft?

Could you please copmare PS with WoW for me?

How many players does it have? you can find up to 180 online at once..

What about the pings from austria? good or bad? ping seems to sit about 300ish but that doesnt affect gameplay too much

is the fighting system good? ...you click, you stab.

Is it faster or slower, easier or more diffucult than World of Warcraft? I personally am of the belief that WoW roxx0rz. It all depends how you play WoW, you can grind a 60 in <3 weeks if you want to. PS has a much wider range of skills (not all of which are implemented yet)

and finally: should i download it or not? your call. Just keep in mind the PS is still in the quite early stages of its developement.

Even if you are here for the first time ... you are still able to read first before posting. I don't see really new questions here.

An average of 50-200 players at the same time; several thousand characters to play with; pings in Germany are ~400-500; PvP fighting is not really encouraged, roleplaying is preferred; I don't know WoW, only that PlaneShift is not as complete as WoW, but instead ... free of charge!

In my opinion: You should. If you are interested in doing more than just duelling.

aside from the 150-ish players on server
there were, at least before the update nearly 60000 clients either downloaded or being downloaded.
there are over 250,000 acounts created.
there are over 600,000 characters. okay i'm guestimating that one. but it feels right, unless somebody has a better number for that one.

Planeshift is much more difficult than WOW... both in good and bad ways and its definetly not newbie friendly. I personaly dont like to play PS eversince those new crystal spawn locations in MB appeared(oh why!?)... but seriously it has gotten much better. RP has is much better these days too... a few years ago it was close to zero, but now people will kick your butt if you even try to speak OOC in /say. As for combat, WoW's is better ^^, but the progression(skill) system is great. Ping in Austria should be good, but it also depends on your ISP.  I personaly like PS better than WoW, but i dont think many(not here of corse) share my oppinion.

A new large update will be coming and you will have to download the new client or use the updater program. Both of these options will take an enormous amount of bandwidth. I recommend you wait until 0.3.015 release comes out. 0.3.015 is the update the developers are testing now. Take care

Sorry I dont really no this is my first year.

The most ive seen is probally 190.
3.How are the pings from austria good or bad? Well unfortunatly i dont live in austria but the ping has never really affected gameplay.

This brings both good and bad things. I love Warcraft, but seeing how the effort of tons of people all around the planet works out is unbuyable!
