If your character was wiped...

With all the recent updates, obviously talk about character wipes has come up. But don't be alarmed, thankfully there will be NO wipes this time around.

However, that got me thinking:  what would I do if Kae'lith was deleted? I've only been playing since April, but in that short amount of time I've been able to develop myself to the fullest, joining a guild and just overall making my niche in the game. I would probably just pick up where I left off and restablish the same character. Most people would probably make new ones, but I think, at least for a while, I would stick with Miss Kae.

Since people develop their character's personalities, form friendships and join guilds, they pick up right where they left off. It's not uncommon that people start over, but it's the exception more than the rule.

that is a very good question. I just think how some peoples story they have woven with their characters were based on, say strength for example. When wiped, the most you could do is...rp that you are strong?

i think it would be good if devs told us when they're scheduling a wipe a few days in advance for rp reasons. some might want to start over with a brand new char and this way they can rp an exit for their older ones. it's just an idea.

That is the first time IMHO that someone has suggested a good reason to update us as to when the wipe may take place.

I jsut think it will be difficult, since the new character may not be nece sarrily related to the past one that was built up all these times, ect.

that makes me wonder... with the wipe will chars be deleted or just sent back to their starting stats? if the first, some might just create their new chars and skip the goodbye rp... i dunno, i think it adds to the rp to have the chance to say goodbye to your maxed stats and silverweaves at the same time as the char, hehe. again, just a thought.

With the wipe, the database will be completely cleared - characters will be deleted, and you will have to recreate them.

I forget why wipes are not announced in general - I don't see anything wrong with an announcement except massive whining, but I'm not the one controlling such policies

yeah, we should rp group therapy before and after the wipe to tread wipe anxiety and post-wipe stress disorders. better yet, start a thread to whine about the wipe. you're gonna love deleting that once it has 400 posts, Karyuu

Hmmm... If Farren were deleted... i'd start him over again and probably be just as strong as I was before the wipe

One question. When this wipe happens and characters deleted, and I go back to make zorbels and the name appears to be already taken ... will I have to suck that up or can I make an issue out of it. Normally I would let it go BUT the name is very original and I take pride in it. I would hate to lose it to someone else.
