Bad news for 10.2
« on: July 04, 2006, 11:18:07 am »
After some testing (and rebooting into 10.2 to attempt a recompile) it seems that I will have to officially shut the door on users of OS X 10.2.  Unless someone else with 10.2.8 can successfully compile Crystal Space (at which point I'd be willing to help them out) it is not practically possible for me to keep things working.

I don't like to say this, because I used 10.2 for a long time, but really, 10.3 is nicer :)

Oh, that's sad for Jaguar users but I believe that they are not a very important number of users with 10.2 as it sticks with low-performance computers .
And as you said, Panther is much better, faster and optimized than Jaguar. We really appreciate your work dfryer

well good bye planeshift. it was good when i played you. not worth the hastle of buying 10.3 and installing on the Beige. it ran decient on my G3 266 but never got to try with the G3 466mhz cpu upgrade and more ram to see how much better it played. oh well. if i knew how to compile i would. or if i had the software to compile i would and if i knew how to code i would. look's like jag is on its way out like OS 9.2.2

Your inability to read amazes me, in most of your posts you ask questions that are answerd directly above yours. Please read before you post. and then read again to make sure your post is relivent.

Dfryer, I am also in Mac software development and totally understand the need to ditch Mac OS 10.2. Good luck with it!

PS. Will this Update be Universal?

It is quite the accomplishment of powerpc that PS was able to run on such an "old" system. Sorry that you will no longer be able to play.
