Problem with interface

I have just entered the game.  I did nothing previously to the problems except move arround using arrow and wsad keys.  Everytime I select a part of the interface, for example, the chat window, my character suddenly starts moving forwards at a run.  To halt this run the only way I've found is to reselect the main view and press "s".  This means that it is impossible for my character to talk without running off into the distance.  I have tried to run the updater but every time I do it says there's a new updater which it then tries to retrieve and crashes in the process.  Attempts to use the Updater in recover mode have failed entirely as it does not come up with anything.  Since trying that I attempted to re-start the main client.  Now I recieve a message which says

Something unexpected happened in PlaneShife: Christal Blue
Details: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00A44510

I thought I'd bring this to your attention as it seems very unusual behaviour.  I shall now restart my computer and if that fails I shall re-install.  If that too does not fix this I shall reinstall.  I put this here so that I may not lose it through some computer failure.

First of all, we told you not to run the updater.  If you did, then reinstall.

Secondly, yeah there was a little weirdness with autorun.  It's fixed for the next update.  (should be sometime really soon, to fix the initial problems)

I had the same problem, I couldn't even attack a rat, not magic nor even with my weapons, because everytime I clicked on my shortcuts, I would start running again. I simply logged out and decided to log back in, and for now everything seems to be fine...

And I would like to accuse that rat of exploiting a bug to try and kill me, even though it doesn't stand a chance, as I can block every one of its attacks.

Same here had the problem i uninstalled the program then reinstalled it then it was great.
