I'm not sure I'm getting your point.

People have been saying that the community is going downhill since the community started out because some were leaving here and there, but it's never been the end of the world, and I feel that a lot of such wishful thinking to return to the past ignores that we could have a just as good present or future.

Could you elucidate?

I mean that this is a complex community with a lot going on at any one time.  You can't see everything.  I've been involved in a lot of RPs and events that barely any of the "regulars" know about, and I haven't been involved in a lot of the "major" RP events that "everyone" gets "in" on.

Bah.  Many have left, but how many others have since joined?  If it's just about numbers, then I think PS is ahead.  I think that the real issue is that there are certain people who were very visible in the community and they left in a very visible way with a lot of drama, then others after the fact have turned it into some big issue that it isn't.  There are issues, but not the issues people tend to take issue with.

 Well it was my first day in planeshift today, and I have to say when Zorbels told me this was a friendly community she wasn't joking. Amost everyone I encountered was very helpful and patient. I want to say a few thank you's to those who helped me. 

Stellub: a special thank you for going out of your way to show me to the NPC who sells armor and offering to assist me with anything I may need. You were quite helpful. 

Tairan: Thank you for teaching me how to /me. This came in handy when I got my butt kicked almost by a clacker. I /me kicked it in the butt back once I figured out how to fight. 

Failda: Thank you for saving my life. If it were not for you I would have jumped into the dungeon. You were very pleasent to speak with and answered many of my questions.

I think this thread was an awesome idea.

  Thanks Drahlian for including me in your thank you's. I want to thank you for having enough balls to start the character that you did. I know that you probably have had alot of headache's and hurdles to cross over but I think you are doing an excellent job. I still support you and your roleplay idea's and I am glad after the threads that have been posted about your guild and idea's that you didn't just give up and quit like many others I have seen go through this. *Bows respectfully* Good luck in your future endeavors.

Yes and no. I've always wanted to create a character like Aradia, but was a bit unsure because I seen the lack of "evil" or general "law breaking" individuals in game. However, when I did come across the Setill character I figured, "Hey, well he's some evil guy. I can be a thief."

Since I'm on the subject I might as well name a few people that I think deserve some recognition. (In no particular order).

Setill - For being the nicest evil guy.
Nilrem - For showing me that Planeshift really DOES have roleplayers and I wasn't fooled by false advertisement.
Drahlian - For liking my story and staging a little roleplay scene related to it.
Gag - Just because he's Gag and such a cool guy.
Xillix - For having so much patience with all of the "n00bs" and being one of the few people that tolerate Aradia's presence and personality. 

Additionally, I'd like to thank all of the past, present, and future members of the Thieves of Yliakum. You've all helped me create something truly unique and I hope we stick around for awhile. (Shhh... we've "disbanded"  )

There's so many more, but my brain isn't big enough to process all the names. I guess I'll just end this here.
