Go for the middle road as default, neither "attractive"(I don't find a virtual 3d representation of a female as attractive) nor ugly, but simply average, AKA "girl next door". I think this would be the best option, so we wouldn't be forced to have ugly or beautiful characters, and some strokes of keys to type character description would get over the details.

By the way, there is a reason for some commercial games to insist on making "attractive" female types with scantily-clad armors for them. Planeshift does not have to follow them on this matter.

This is not just for females though, in my opinion the default for all character models should be an average look.

There is a difference between having an attractive character, and using an attractive model. Currently, our Stonebreaker females fail miserably when compared to the much more solid construction of the Klyros, for example. There are just so many things wrong that I wish I could go on a fixing spree - and chances are, as soon as I will get the time and the approval, I will. Even something as simple as fixing the geometry of the head and improving the facial textures will go a long way towards enhancing the overall appearance.

I definitely agree that this is one of our poorest models - no insult to the artist who created her. We all do what we can, as our abilities allow. However as the quality of the surroundings improve, so must the rest of the models keep up.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

To the model: yes i agree the dwarven female model need to improve a lot, mostly the body is too sharp
To the look: Maybe dwarves do like women like these. For example in some cultures women wears golden ring around their necks to make it longer and to look better. I somehow don't think that extra longnecked women are atractive.

Sorry I restarted this thread. But it is important to me. :)

First of all: I was talking about the visible model, not  characters. Sorry I did not express myself clearly.

Anyway, I dont like -seems I m not alone- a general oversexyness. A "girl/guy next door"- look for all would be perfect. (People loving perfect looking models may leave to Guild War :P)
I personally do like that model, but i think my opinion is not shared among many others. Once a female player said "i really love dwarves, but the female model is just too ugly so i desided to start with a diabola" and i thnk she is not the only one. Imo it is the same to /many male players.

about RP:
i think a dwarf would likes how the body of lady dwarves appear. sure they dont like petite women. (but why the DR do some dwarves run after fenkis??Please improve your RP,brothers. You know who you are! ;P )

Last but not least: We all know you, Karyuu and all other devs do a good job and you work hard. BIG BIG THANKS to you! Especially your work is great, Karyuu!

"But please work at dwarf-girl-model first!" *ducks and sneaks out* "dont beat me!" (hehe)

Why do black and white people get together?  People have different tastes.

Also, if a particular dwarf spent long periods in non-dwarven society, his tastes could change.
Did you get the number on that one-eyed rat?
