Trading is one of the most important things to do in a mmorpg, so made up some skills to make trading more interesting. See if you like them.
Identifying
With a low identify skill you will get very little information about the things you examine, while with a high skill you will get much more information. At a very high skill level you even get the chance to detect special things like enchantments that other people might not notice. So what\'s this got to do with trading? Well, half of everything about trading is
knowing what you\'re buying or selling.
Example:
A new person loots a dagger from a dead monster and examines it. The screen reads:
Dagger
Then he walks to the marketplace and tries to sell his dagger for 100 gold/tria or whatever
Now a high level walks up to him and asks him to show the dagger. When that person examines it, it says:
Dagger
Quality: 95%
Material: iron
Enchantment: added 15-50 Frost damage (of course these are just examples. I don\'t know what kind of properties the team intends to give to weapons)
The dagger happens to have a rare enchantment on it, so the high level person agrees to make the deal for 100 tria. Then with a smile on his face he sells it to another person for 3000 tria (the real value of the enchanted dagger) and makes a profit of 2900 tria.
I hope you get my point

Maybe the identify skill should work together with smithing and enchanting skills, so that high level smithers and enchanters get a better identifying effect on the items related to their profession.
Some more trade related skills I came up with:
Packing skill - the more you can carry, the more you can sell at a time.
Shouting skill - high level \'shouters\' can be heard from a longer distance, so they will attract more customers.
