You are not running the correct version of PS for this server

I'm sorry if I'm repeating a question that's already been asked. I scanned the boards and could'nt find an appropriate answer.

I found and downloaded the game for the very 1st time tonight.

I am on what seems to be the latest version... 0.3.015

The install was perfect. The registration was perfect.

The problem is when I hit "Ok" to continue at the log-in screen, I get the message "You are not running the correct version of Planeshift for this server."

I even downloaded some type of .dll patch from a previous post in here (that had similar-ish problems).

Help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This is what I found from the lower post and it didnt work...


"After the last update we faced a very bad bug. Basically all newly created chars had the ability to train at no cost. This resulted in people with 150 in sword after 20 minutes of play.

Today we deleted all characters created after 2006-07-04 (yyyy-mm-dd) to fix that issue. Sorry but was necessary to be fair with other older chars.

WINDOWS:
At the moment the updater is not working properly, so get this file to update your 015 clients to latest server release. Just unzip in your ps dir and then run the client.

LINUX and MAC:
We are building a new patch for you. Just be patient."

i cant even find my PS directory and if i did it would take me alllllllll damn day

Use Search and look for psclient.exe and see the directory it's in, thats where you installed it.

Not necessarily Planeshift Crystal Blue. He could have named the dir differently. Just do a search on psclient.exe and see the dir its in.

the patch has the client up and connecting to the server. but the server is unstable right now

yeah i get the same thing

i downloaded the patch but I couldn't delete the older dll files to install the new ones. It needed a password to be entered. I am sure i could do it somehow because I am the admin login on this computer but it's running XP and I've never used it. XP sucks big time it's really crap.

And trying to get the planeshift thing working is really crapping me off.

The older version was leaving psclient processes running on your machine. Just open task manager and stoip those, or just reboot your machine and then unzip the file.
