Deleting of new characters
« on: July 13, 2006, 02:03:06 am »
While I understand that you needed to delete all of the new characters because some of them had bugged skill leveling could you have at least given us a bit of warning :D I would have loved to transfer my 40k trias, my armor  and weapons to a friend. Just a thought the next time you have to do this a bit of warning would be nice.

Also a quick question with the deletion of all my characters did I also lose all of my advisor points, I know they are supposed to be linked to the account not the characters but I just want to make sure.
You can give a man fire and he will be warm for a day but set him on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

You played the game for a max of 1 week, and you are worried about advisor points ?

I think you should consider it a dry run.
Have fun it the game and dont be consernd about your points or your status as an advisor.

All great truthes begin as blasphemies- SHAW

Well I answered alot of questions, most of the time I played I seemed to be the only advisor on and I played alot.

I think the purpose was exactly to give no warning. Think of it, 40.000 trias is a lot of money. Frankly, it's more than I have at the moment, because I spent it all at training recently
Really, 40.000 trias is a lot of money if you only have been playing a week, and I'm sure you only managed to get that money because of bugged npc's and your bugged character. If people would have been able to quicly transfer all of their falsely obtained money to another player, this little wipe wouldn't have been of much use, now would it?
We're not evil. We're simply amazing.

Characters are wiped - you should expect this at any moment. If we would've given a day's warning, people not online that day would've complained. If we gave two days for a warning, people who miss it for the third day will complain. If we give three days for a warning, the developers would become angry because players are stopping progress on the game.

Moreover, characters were -cheating-. They were abusing an exploit that let them train anything they want and get any item they want, and any amount of tria that was possible during this time. Did we want these people to transfer over their exploited items to a safe character?

Another thread about the wipe, another lock.

Advisor points are stored on your account - so you should still have them if your account exists.

Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.
