 :flowers:

This is a thread in a wrong section of the forums ^^

There's a problem with fighting, currently. If you've 0 skill at melee you won't be able to hit anything, similar to axe, sword, or dagger skills.
This isn't happening solely to new created chars, but also to "older" chars but without stats trained. Don't worry, that has been already reported times before, and it's being looked into.

If you want to be able to kill things, try creating again your char, so it comes with at least level 1 in melee, sword, axe or daggers, and then equip it with the appropiate weapon to do the damage. Mind you, you can also take this time to explore the RP plane of the game, which has to be, necesssarily, the most exciting of them all.

Why does everyone prefix things with the race?...  If you're having a bug, what gives you the slightest inkling that it has anything to do with being a dwarf?

Yeah, there's some combat bugs.  Crashes and the updater came first; we need to start looking into that now.  ;)

Yes, it isn't just dwarves; my Ynnwn also cannot fight. I managed to kill approximately 3 rats, as well as doing around 1 or 2 damage in total to 2 other rats. Other than that, I can't damage them either. Luckily my Nolthrir has some training in swords and axes, so at least he is alright. Also, they are right, exploring is important.

I never even made it to the Bronze Doors because I always fell down a cliff, and died... Now I think I'll go and try again. Note to self, avoid cliffs, unless it's necessary...

Yeah, I know it has nothing to do with dwarves  ::)

My friend was sitting next to me as I was typing and said: "hey, if you dont put down that your a dwarf they will yell at you for not being specific!"

Yesterday evening I kill 2 rats with my bare hands.  \\o//
This morning I canĀ“t do any damage to a single rat but i can fight against klackers in an other dungeon. I went back to the sewers an try killing a rat without any sucess.  :'(
So I went back again to the dungeon and attacked a klacker. It killed me because my dwarf stucked in front of a stairway :@#\

Now my Dwarf refuses to leave the tavern either before the bug is fixed or the beer runs out in Hydlaa 8)

Starkiller, can you please read this thread:
http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=24467.0

and see if your char (dwarf) suffers from the same issue that the fenki model?
It would be interesting to know that.

Also... have you any level in "melee" skill?
It's weird you were able to kill rats yesterday but today not. Perhaps something's being tweaked, serverside.

The trick is to be as specific as you can be, not to try and guess things.  Put down everything you know, but unless we're talking about models, anims, textures, or maybe even stats for a race it's not going to be race-specific.  It also happens often with OSes.  People tend to put down "Windows crash", when more than likely there's no reason it's going to be Windows specific.  The best way to go is to put down what you did that crashed it, the crash location/number if you have it, and then put down your system specs afterwards.  If others post and they're all Windows, and Linux people post and it doesn't happen to them, then it's a Windows-only crash.  The lesson here, is just try not to assume too much.  (not the biggest of deals; just annoying, and commonly missunderstood, it seems)
