Where does all the smoke go?

Ok talking to zorbels, then we both realised OOC we had no idea where or how smoke left the cavern. IE smoke from chimey fires, furnaces etc. Only thing I can think of is there are some small tunnels at the top which let smoke escape, otherwise the top of the cavern would fill with smoke all the time, so where do you think all the smoke goes?

Maybe it rises and get destroyed when it gets close to the crystal?

Or it does the same it would also do at the surface: Fall down somewhen

Small fires the smoke will probably be scattered by the wind just as it does in here as I asume there are winds and in cities like Hydlaa where perhaps there is to much smoke to all be scattered the cavernroof might be blackened although the wind might still spread it to much to be noticable by the eye.

Would be my thought really.

yes smoke from small fires wont go far, but bigger fires will, which then asks surely level 1 will be getting alot of dirty air from lower levels and same for those levels, and then the levels submerged in water will surely be getting alot of soot.

It does not really need to come fresh air in... the stalaktit is big enough... but the smoke can indeed escape through the many little holes I think

Even if it does escape through tiny tunnels, holes, etc. There is still the question of higher levels having dirty air from lower levels. eg Level 2's smoke rising to level 1 which would make level 1's air not very nice to breath.

Maybe, may also be that up there the winds are stronger, or the influence of the great crystal cleans the air, as mentioned before. As I like the idea of a poluted higher area, the people there won't :-)

That might work, maybe the crystal somehow makes the air pure again?  I don't know, it's got me stumped.

Translation: It dissipates after floating around for a bit.

I bet it IS the crystal. Think about it. We don't know much about it, only that getting too close means being disintegrated. That must mean that even smoke must get disintegrated by it. Also, according to the history of Yliakum, Laanx studied the power of the crystal, and used it to create a race, the Lemur I believe. Talad then used it to create one of his own... and make Laanx too ugly for words... This means that the crystal possesses some magical properties, very powerful ones as well.

Finally, theres one more factor we haven't considered: Talad. If he watches over Yliakum, then surely he must do something about it...
