When at game load screen before connect i get this error...

I get a runtime error with C++ in it.  I think I need to re install (even though I just started I got my character some stuff that somone lent to me, and I dont wanna loose it)

Can I keep the save file somewhere, re install it, then out the save file back and my character will still be there?

Your character is stored on the server - otherwise anyone would be able to edit their character in whatever way they want If you're getting the runtime error when you exit the game, the problem is known and there is another thread about it in the forum. Otherwise, knowing when it happens would be important.

Ok, so if I completly uninstall this game, re install, put the patch in, run teh updater and finally play. Then connect, my character will be in character select???

  GRrrr, this time it loaded, connected, i selected character and when it stared to load the level it gave me the same error. and then i tried again and alittle after halfway of loading the whole game, it made a error sound with no error and instalny quit? BTW, when I was installing lots of the same errror came up, i had the choice to "Abort, Retry or Ignore" i did ignore on all after retry wouldnt work.

  It seems to be quite a mystery

Well if you hit Ignore even once, you are going to have problems

How much RAM do you have?

Try getting the dll from here, and see if it works after placing it right inside your Planeshift directory.

Bah it was a simple thing to fix it.

I just restart my PC and it works... I guess I should try that first before posting...

you proberly had the prosess going in the background so a reboot helped there or you could have killed it

That error often happens when you're out of RAM.  Yes, um... please try rebooting before posting.  Please, seriously, please try anything before posting.  Rebooting when something goes wrong (especially on Windows) should be instinctive.
