Some questions about Magic
« on: July 17, 2006, 11:10:06 am »
Hi,

I've been studying some of the magic ways and I'm quite interested in this aspect of the game. I have got the glyphs fromt he magic shop, purified them and used them all so far.

Now, got a few questions (Dunno if I should be asking this here though. Please feel free to lock if you feel I'm asking for too much info)

1. I see you can have the magic glyphs of different levels. You buy them from the shop (level 10 out of 50). What should I be doing to get higher levels ? Buy them somewhere else ? have more experience ? study somewhere ?
2. As per studying. Where can I study more magic ? Or actually, can I ?
3. New glyphs & mixing existing ones. Can I get new glyphs out there ? can I mix them ?

I don't want to get the answers of how to do things of course. Just interested in seeing if it's limited to what I've got so far ...

Thanks in advance

When the new 0.3.015 version of PS Clients came out, a new feature was that items, especially weapons would degrade through use and would need to be repaired before they broke. This has been implemented by activating the Quality Attribute of a weapon. The default value seems to be 10.0/50. This default value for Quality has been applied to ALL items that you can store in your Inventory, and not just to those items that can be equipped.

In my character's Inventory I have two items that have Quality: 10.0/50 -where can I get a Falka repaired to 50/50, and where do I go to get Rinna's Note repaired to 50/50?

It isn't the Items that you improve, it is your characters Skills and Stats that you Train up to improve your ability to use them, and use them so you can get more Training... this applies to Weapons and it also applies to Magic.
- running PlaneShift Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.11) Client, on an Apple iMac G5 2GHz PowerPC processor, 2GB DDR SDRAM, an ATI Radeon 9600 graphics card with 128MB VRAM, a 20-inch active-matrix LCD widescreen display, and a 250GB Serial ATA hard drive... so what's your excuse, huh?

So you should go see Levrus or maybe Jayose to train your magic. A small warning : magic ways require quite a lot of progression points, so it will take a while before you can brag about being a master mage...
