I'm sorry, I'm not tryign to be mean, I like the idea really, but,  Police of Yliakum??

There's already soooo many giulds with 'of Yliakum' in them.  Thieves, Vespers, Helpers, now Police, and I'm sure there are more.  I over heard a comment the last time I logged into PS.  It went something along the lines of, "Wow, is there a rule that every new giuld in Yliakum has to end in 'of Yliakum'?" The response I overheard was, "affraid so."  They were joking of course, but I hope you can see my point.  I'm not saying that it's a bad name for a giuld, but the 'of Yliakum' thing is getting a little old, well at least to me anyway.  Why not, Protective Police Squad or something?  Okay bad example, but I was never good at making names anyway.  Anyways, I think its great that you want to start something like this and if you like the name, run with it, but perhaps it could be named better? Diversify, become unique in not only what you and your fellow giuld mates do, but also in name.  A unique and catchy name sticks out and is remembered more than one that blends in with all the rest.

Good start :} I'd perhaps recommend adding more variety though, just to make things more interesting. Some words that may have a spark to them: fledgling, trainee, initiate, enforcer, lawman, patrolman, trooper, overseer, etc. It's a good idea to provide engaging rank names for members to strive for.

That's bullcrap PlaneShift doesn't charge anyone for anything. But you will need to have tria to start your guild - 20,000, to be exact. Also be sure to have at least four members ready to invite within 5 minutes of the guild's creation in the game, otherwise you'll find it disbanded. This information is available in the Creating Your Guild sticky, but just in case you haven't heard of the requirements before.

That's generally how most guild forums are arranged. There may be a public "guild hall" type of forum section, but the meat of the forum is viewable only to guild members.

Karyuu, I started a guild before, but didn't know about that rule, so I lost 20k.

I think then I will be making my forum available to citizens as well, and I will name the squad Hyldaa's Patrol Squad.

Well I'm glad you decided to get rid of the "Of Yliakum" part, mainly because you are not the only police guild in the game but that name does make it sound like you are the only one.

That being said I hope you find some willing members to start this off and as soon as you do I'm hoping to work on some relationships between your Hydlaa guards and my own guild.

Also maybe you can take a look here, it might give you some new ideas ... it's my own guild, the Vaal Guard, a guard unit that works in Ojaveda.

Ah, I didn't see this mentioned, but what was the name of the guild changed to since "Of Yliakum" got dropped? It would be a good idea to edit the first post in this thread to reflect that change.
