apps dont work.

All of the applications in the planeshift folder 3.015 crash on startup. I have tried using the updater.jar but i get an error saying 'failed to update updater' or something. I am running a g4 mac os 10.4.7 with a slowish processer but i have played planeshift before on this computer before so i know it should work.

Any help is greatly and humbly appreciated

 Did you try game updater not Jave i Did a few hours ago to get new updates [we are 15b] now, worked ok, got normal warning but click ok run ok and in game.

 Also at moment just to check it, running update from 14, just to see if it will do it ok downloading 173.83 mb of data so will let you know if it works.

 Yes it will even update 14 to 15b.

Hey thanks for the help. I was running the java updater but i decided to download the updater-old.jar and for some reason it worked.

I have downloaded planeshift and I cant open any of the apps in the planeshift folder on my newish mac (OSX 10.4.7). I have attempted to use bittorrent but that wouldn't do anything. When I opened it in bittorrent it would remain at 0kb out of 240mb. I left it for over 2 hours just so that no one could say that it takes a long time. It doesnt do anything! I used download manager and did get the application psclient (and all of the other stuff in the folder) but nothing opens. I tried the thing where you type a bunch of letters and junk into the terminal and that didnt do anything either! I'm really getting frusturated. I read that you're supposed to use the updater and that "unexpectedly quits" before it opens too! I have made three posts just to make sure somebody answers. Somebody please tell me what I can do to get psclient to open.

And please dont post that you're having the same problem because that gets people off topic. It only needs to be said once. Only post something if you have an answer because it will save many people alot of trouble.

 Fourth if you have a new intel G5 Quote from dfryer in this thread: Intel mac In any case, running Planeshift via Rosetta may or may not be an enjoyable experience.  We have not yet figured out how to produce universal binaries of the Intel macs.  That said, Planeshift should run under emulation but it remains to be seen how effective that is.

PS.   Bittorrent wont work for me so I use Azureus

I have a powerbook g4 so it shouldn't have any problems with the new graphics chip.

But the problem is that I cant get any planeshift applications to open. I used Mirror 4 to it download the planeshift3d folder. I've read forums for about 2hours and I havn't found any solutions, or even if I did I didnt understand what they were saying (not that I'm computer illiterate or anything).But if you or anyone else could tell me what to do about applications that won't open please help.(I've read all of the so-called guides that everyone refers other people to so dont try it )

 The Most reading guids are very usefull did you do this step: 4. The next step (once the update is finished) is to set the permission bits so that you can run the client. You'll need to set the permission bits through Terminal. Open Terminal, located at /Applications/Utilities/Terminal(.app). In the Terminal window, type "cd " (note the space " " after "cd"). Then, locate your Planeshift 3D folder in the Finder and drag it into the open Terminal window. Press return.
Then type:
"chmod 755 psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient"
and press return.

And then type:
"chmod 755 pssetup.app/Contents/MacOS/pssetup"
and press return.

Finally, type
"chmod 755 updater.app/Contents/MacOS/updater"
and press return.

well I'll try that again but i really dont think it will work because I've already done it...

I updated it using the update.jar that I downloaded separately and it just downloaded that same stuff I got from the "mirror 2" download at ther regular site. Is that normal?
