update not working

I downloaded the game and went to update it and it comes up with a runtime error.  when i downloaded the game it didnt come with any files that i can see that need to be extracted     can someone please help me?

Hello!

Before running the game updater, you have to download a separate patch zip file - we have a stickied thread with Install Instructions in this very forum section. Follow the directions, and if you run into problems at any step post back here.

Before patching though, make sure that you don't have any PlaneShift-related processes running in the background, if you have run PlaneShift earlier today. Easily done by just rebooting, and then proceeding with the update steps.

Do I need to patch the Game which was installed from PlaneShift_CBV0.3.015b.bin file, which I have already dowloaded?

This patch is Windows-only, and the Linux Install Instructions only say to download the game, install, and then update normally :}
