Have I reached the end of the PS universe?

One fine evening I was on my way out of town when all of a sudden...

What in the name of Talad? Am I to leap into this great void? Perhaps I should return to town and tell the others of this.

As I turn around I feel as if my body is being warped and contorted, but as I walk away from the void, the feeling leaves me.

As I make my way back around the bend, I notice a mighty shadow befalling the road.

As I attempt to walk through it I am somehow blocked. I feel like I'm only half-way in this realm. Perhaps if I go to sleep I will awake from this dream...but if so, what could this mean?

[Note: A quick quit and restart of the game cured the problem. Thought I would share the experience.]

No, I have all that turned off. It was really strange, I even tried to jump out into the void, but it just reloaded and put me right back where I was, trapped.

Hmm... not sure what triggers this.  I'm working on writting a new map loading system, as the current generic one in use is pretty much tapped out.  All sorts of weird things can happen, sometimes just depending on the order in which you load things.  (checkerboards are all to common because of this)  Hopefully I can hash something better out for the next release.
