Pet Movement
« on: July 29, 2006, 06:39:39 am »
im not sure if this has been posted b4 (used serach didnt find anythin)

The pets at the moment dont really movr that great (groffels dissapear wit hthe /follow command)
i was wonding if it is possible to get them to stay by your side and move with you and have a /stay command.
It is sort of like World of warcraft pets. They run along beside you at your speed and they just mimic your movements. when you come to a small space to get thru they will just follow single file sort of thing. This would be a great development for the future.

Sometimes things are just really common sense, so you won't find any previous threads on them ;) If we have a /follow command, you can be sure that we'll have a command to make them stop following you, as well as make sure that they won't bump into walls if you're making them follow through a narrow space. As for running at your speed, that's not entirely realistic for every pet. Remember that all of them are baby models right now.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

There's already a /stay command.  It tells the pet to stop following you.

As the whole pet system is in it's infancy stages, I do believe much like you described will be implemented as that is the general idea of having a /follow command.  It will follow you when you ask it to follow you.  It will stay when you ask it to stay.

Not to be mean or anything, but there is a sticky of rules in the wishlist area.  One of the rules is not to request obivious/commen sense type stuff.

Edit: Bah, Kary and her clicky fingers.
