Platinum digging site closed ?
« on: July 29, 2006, 09:33:44 am »
Why has the platinum digging site - at the place we all know - been closed ?

Will it be reopened with the next server update  - or did it move to another place ?

I dont know it.

Do you have any clue ?

I think a similar thing happened to gold, but it was fixed very shortly. What do you mean by "closed" though? No more platinum is available?

Confirm - the platinum mines near Zak are abandoned at the moment, no "good place to dig" can be found there.

Might wanna mention that in the orignal thread Talad posted.

We weren't given that idea, and he himself wrote that platinum was REMOVED from the GAME.

Great that you told us now, but might wanna put the info in the original thread as well.

Actually I was wrong, and Talad knows better :) I posted that before finding out that platinum was removed, not just moved.

With available platinum, people were able to pay 250K tria for a Slash 8 sword. That kills economy, it is beyond sense.

In WoW and many other games, it is referred to as "Gold Farming"  No one likes a gold farmer, they ruin the economy.

As for needing it to buy repair kits, try hitting something with your hands/paws for a bit.  No need to repair those...yet.  A lowly commoner isn't going to be able to afford to use swords right off the bat, let alone train in them.  It would be more natural that new commers must start out their fighting career using thier bare hands/paws and then at a time later, when they can afford to use weapons, then they would switch over.  With the recent changes, I see this as becoming more of a reality IG.

that kind of slipped my mind lol im the most blonde  redhead in the world....but is this just a way to slow progresion down? on a scale from 1-10 the rate is about 3, wich is a good thing in a way at the time. but then again it does kind of mess with the economy in a bad way to. isnt plat a hard thing to get ahold of? so wouldnt only the already rich/strong be able to do it. wich in turn gives them more cash to buy new thing and do more auctioning for the middle and lower class to buy..........i still haveing a hard time understanding it 100%

With platinum removed the tactical implications of progression point, leveling, tria accumulation seem to make more sense to me now. I am probably going to make a new character soon, because I can now see how to do it clearly. It appears to me that the game is nicely balanced, and gets more so as time goes on. A few people are putting a lot of thought into this game. In Laanx we trust!
