I do forgive you Phinehas. In all other things I defer to your wisdom, old one...

[later] Alright, Phinehas... you are right and I am wrong. Let it be said. My original post where I popped on you -- I am usually good about that but went over my own line here -- was based more on respect for Bitot than on anything you said. I really like Bitot and Ganite, and have seen them put a lot of effort into teaching people.

But the Crafter is foundering, members cannot be promoted and the guildmasters login only occasionally, members are leaving as Pisik did yesterday because they feel abandoned. Eldoth is still a member, but more just to be able to see if there is anything going on.

I really think that Phinehas' other posts in this forum should be taken to heart by people wanting to start guilds, and please guildmasters if you are going to be away for long periods of time consider this when assigning rights to the levels in the guild, the guild should function autonomously as possible when the guildmasters are away. That being said, the best thing for a guildmaster is to sign-on at least once a day.

is there a guild website?  If not, I propose to host one on my computer.  I think it can hold up to most loads.  I host a blog now (http://linuxblogger.dyndns.org/weblog/).  Please let me know.  Also if anyone is interested in developing or good with content let me know too.  larrydag@sbcglobal.net

I saw that edit coming, Pisik was a great asset to your guild.
My guild is a member of that alliance and I have not seen another guild leader online since we joined.
I have no idea what is happening but the alliance is weakening.
I hope you make it but Phinehas may be correct.

Thank you, Idoru. Yes, Pisik was a great asset. And he was on pins and needles about leaving. He really soul-searched before he left and was quite upset about the whole thing. I was away for a short time and everything just kinda went poof. Have not seen Melorek, or the Borimels for that matter, for a while and of Illustro... nothing. There are a number of people I mention below... sorry if I forgot anyone... who are regular players with good attitudes. Consider them, Idoru, active players deserve active guilds.

Thank you, Larrydag. But I really think the decision to create a webpage and host it belongs to Ganite and Bitot, or Lesilie secondarily. If you feel like you should remain a part of the Crafter, then get something online but if they do come back, they may decide not to use it.

I have some good friends still in the Crafter: Phinlos, Winder, Dothar. A couple of weeks into their initial (guildmasters) absence, I did consider breaking off and forming the "Crafter Local #47" or some such. Since I usually have the time to be online, most days anyway. I did not do it because I was nagged by this feeling of ... betrayal ... and told Winder I would speak with Bitot when he was on before doing anything.

Then I noticed Bitot had been on a couple of times briefly, and when I logged back in Ganite and Bitot and Melorek and I did some event at the gold field to celebrate Illustro and then ... nothing. This was shortly before I saw Phinehas' posting and it just kinda... anyway I appreciate anyone who has posted here and that includes Phinehas.

I will probably leave Eldoth as a member of the Crafter. I last logged him off in a sleeping room in the Kada-El after drinking with friends for a while. He pretty much just walks around between there and Harnquists, holding a beer and wondering what happened... he does not work the forge, or the mine. Pretty much just drinks.

I still think there is nothing wrong with that name, other groups (not in PS) have used such a tense in their title name so it is not unheard of... However, I did not join because of the name -- but in spite of it -- and because of Daminson, and then stayed because of Bitot, Ganite, Winder, Phinlos, Pisik, Halaali and others whom I cannot recall at the moment.

You seem to almost be a model guildmaster Idoru, I say that because an alt knows a number of good people in the Elemental light, and they are bright and active and pleasant to deal with IG and all have good things to say about you, so I congratulate you on the hopefully continuing success of the Elemental Light.

I could have left this thread alone and not posted, however that would not have been sincere, nor fair to Phinehas. So once again I thank everyone, despite any guild issues. Most anybody I have met and remembered in Planeshift has made a mark on me somehow, and hopefully we may see Ganite and Bitot again. Though I might be the only one left in the guild at that point.

Anyway, this is all a whole lot more interesting than nothing at all, even if things were not perfect...

Thank you Eldoth, that is such a kind thing to say, alot of my members value Pisik very highly, we have tried to get him to join the Elemental Light.
the offer to join is open to all your members who have become disolutioned with the guild you are in.

hi this is pisik formally of the crafters. i am sorry to leave a gguild that sounded so promising when bitot (im pretty sure it was bitot first recruited me. i felt as though my talents would go to waste i even recruited about 4-5 people while there to try to build the guild back up a bit. I am sad to say i failed i am good friends with ioru and a lot of his guild and put countless hours training them so that there is a decent percent of happy members. i will never join another guild but i am happy to help all that asks me. i do not and will not ever have a bad thought towards the crafters as i was a noob when i joined, and i thought all my problems could be solved by the support of a guild i am now a little wiser in the ways of the world and feel guilds are a waste of 20000 trias to start one. many have asked me to join and others even ask if they put up the money will i form a guild my answer is an unfortunate no. i just like to help so if there is any one out there that feel the same way please try to remember do your research on any guild you consider joining. as i have said before i am always helping people why cant other poeple help out others just because they feel it is the right thing to do. only helping because it gets guild points is not really the way i see help that is just trying to better yourself by helping a lesser player. all that said all i ask in return for my help is that the people i help make me a promise to one day help another the same as i helped them. i feel that is a fair price to pay for a larger happier community. i have many friends from the game and it gives me a thrill to be able to help as my friends idoru, chazarus, karst, maerghaine (i hope i spelt it right,m'lady) and brother frak and brother althos, still continue to help me. [ooc] this is the first interactive game i ever played and i feel i am better off now that i found such a great gaming community thank you all the developers who put all their time and effort making the world a beeter place for me and many other people out there im sure  sorry i rambled a bit there but this is my first post or reply ever and this is also the first forum i ever visited so i beg any forgivness for such a long post.
thank you for the opportunity to play and live in the planeshift world
i would also like to thank eldoth and idoru for their kind words. well i think thats all i want to say i am sorry if my reply offeneds anyone as that is never intention bye for now see you all around town
( one more thing is there a spell check any where for me to sheck my posts for errors)

A little breathless perhaps, but a sincere and kind post. I do not think anyone would have anything to be offended about there, Pisik. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, and I hope you always have good luck in your travels.

I'm new to the guild and wishing they would purge the earlier thread. But besides that, we are a crafting guild and historically crafters trained apprentices. Would it be against the rules of the game for us to put up crafting guildelines on this forum? like what skill in what you need to smelt steel? or how you gain the experience neccesary etc.

If this guild has started up again and you'd like to create a new thread for it, please do so I will remove the old. However, I would avoid sharing details on the crafting process within these boards. This is information that is best shared more directly - through personal exchanges, in-game, etc. Besides, you guys want to keep some "trade secrets" to yourself, right? Motivate interested traders to join ;]

As a group who do what the crafters were set up to do we seem to be increasing in active members however as a guild we are in a bit of trouble. I will speak to the other active members and see if we can sort something out. As it stands we have no leaders and no one has access to guild settings or privelidges. Well we have leaders but they don't seem to have been in game since August 06. If anyone can reach them please tell them we could do with a hand.
Does anyone know what we can do with the guild if the original leaders cannot be found? Should it be taken to the GM's?
Other than this problem we are alive and kicking and actively recruiting.
Elarele.

I would recommend joining the Imperial Trades but that would be shameless advertising so I won't.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

Join another guild with the same purpose .. like Parallo has so shamelessly advertized :P

Or recreate your guild. Get your members together, all leave the old guild and start a new one with new leadership and a new name of course.

We have now formed a new guild with most of the active members. We are still rounding up stragglers however so any members reading this please contact Plu or Sizo in game to get invited to the new guild. When the aims are more polished we will post the new guild up for all to see.
