I think you should make it element specific maybe, that always adds a new twist. Maybe you could make it more fish like, for the undersea races, or more air-like, or eath-like, etc.

That way there's no way it could be like anything here...unless there are dogfishes, or dogbirds...or dog..rocks! Imagine the possiblities, bahahahahahaha.  :sorcerer: :sweatdrop:

Well, I have a harder time dealling with critisismthan everyone else.. most people who critisize e without helping either don't know or are trying to get a reaction out of me... And I like the racopossum the way it is, but the charic can get improvements....

I hope the critisism doesnt stop you from sharing your work. I can understand that a shot at your creation can discourage further development.
However, most responses are an attempt at giving you ideas on new directions, to make your charatures more unique.
I think your critters are cool, but maybe to earthy for the PS setting.
As was suggested, try a biped of sorts and see how that works.

Good luck and i hope to see more creations from you soon :)

Yes, Gyerfry, I can understand why you think that, just don't let your ego rule you like it did with me. I couldn't stand with anyone critisizing what I did and it let me down. Next I was looking for compliments which didn't improve my work at all, leaving me with an emptiness like when you've just finished you candy bar and you have nothing left. I still suffer from that arrogance that comes to a new artist and I hope I will grow out of it. My tip is if you don't want people to critisize you then critisize yourself. I do that, people support me and give me ideas for new works and new knowledges(Thank god, you people). By critisizing myself I show that i'm not perfect to myself and other people, which in wayshelps myself and other people to help me improve myself.

Just hang in there, bro. Be strong, for me. Create, dream and fantasize. The world lies in front of you and waits to be discovered.

First of all you have got to understand you are good at what you do. The fact that you can even draw an animal that people can recognize puts you ahead of the game. I know many people who would kill to have your skills, as they can't even draw a stick man.  :P On that same token, unfortantly as  Baldur pointed out ... you need this critisim to learn and grow and become even better at what you do. Without it how will you know where you can improve?  Don't take the comments to personally, remember no one really knows you ..... only the art you display. They are criticizing the art, not you as a person.

You have talent, don't forget that.  :flowers:

There we go, great job \\o//

Now if you could transmit it onto paper, i'm very interested in what you can make of'it.
Just remember, sea serpents are old news, show me if you can make something unique like Cherppows Baanc. Make it bizarre, something unnatural. Become crazy, let your mind soar free- Draw what comes out as you go, then show me what you've made.

to be honest, I don't have that much of an imagination... I do apperently cause I write great stories, but I always use things that were already made up....

Heres a list of things I want on the next pet:

Can climb
Can swim
Can walk
Can hunt
Can fight
Is omnivourus
Cool Apperence

I'm gonna draw something with all these requirements

I dont beleive that planeshift supports slavery, and a creature of that intelligence (one that can speak a predominant language) would not be a "pet", it would be rather a dominant species. Besides I dont think English is a language of Yliakum.

Hi,

I think your concepts are nice. The proportions are correct, and they do look like real creatures. Some of the colours are a bit bright, could try reducing saturation a bit. Creature's faces are important; humans identify each other, and also their pets, through facial features. Thus, if you want to create a being that looks alien, make one with strange face. :) I think this is also the case in your first and second pets: people identify them as familiar animals due to their faces.

Here's an example:

I hope you don't mind me using your pet as subject. I changed the face of your creature a bit. Also reduced the colour saturation. With the tapir nose, it's not nearly as identifyable as a canine. However, try moving your finger on top of the nose, to hide it, and you'll see the dog again. :)

Keep it up, and add something from yourself in each pet.

Aahhahaha, that's great...it kind of looks like a cross between alf, a dog, and a cut, and a ant-eater.

I give you 90% \\o//.

I took away 10% because you could still do some miniature tweeks here and there. Try doing what some guy on this thread said, give it three tails...or...not tails at all...or a FISH TAIL!Or wings! Or a giant...foot? We'll see... well actually don't tweek it THAT much. Just make it a LITTLE more unique and your there, otherwise that, it looks great. It made me laugh, and i'm still going.  ;D

Edit: Woops didn't realize it wasn't the same person, but my comments still go unchanged.

He was just trying to give an example that you need to expand your concepts :)
