Capprion said: "comedy, no we proly shouldnt have that, most people i have seen in PS have a very dry humor its like somone took all the funny out of there funny bone yaknow....( yes i know, that was not funny ) if you make somone giggle in plainshift it better be simple, polite, and childish....if a 5 year old couldnt understand or should not hear it....most times planeshift comunity would try to give you the death penalty"

Capprion, are YOU trying to be funny? Humor (as well as sarcasm) does NOT communicate well in text. So maybe that is what you meant. But I think it sounds like you meant we are all humorless IRC robots controlling characters, that I cannot agree with based on a few of the in-game characters I have known. I edited my original comment a little, too.

  what i mean is you have to be extremely carefull with what you do or say sometime,  nothing will ever make everyone happy at the same time i understand this.  but the thing about the funny bone n all of that was meant as an example of almost the limit of what you can say around alot of the players in the comunity. there are alot of good people in PS i have met. but then again i have also seen a population of about 60%  that try to nitpick  at others or just get mad or offended when something said is a bit more then they can understand...was more/less a warning to people if they try to do anything in a big group like that,  they are going to have a few people possibly threaten them, or send you repeated tells describing in depth how much you offended them.  nope not trying to be funny at all.and i said nothing about all. i said a good deal of players...just speaking from experience, half the people will roll the other half will light a fire and chase you with sticks. its happend to me. and i have seen it happen to alot of others.  normally its something simple blown way up and turned into something when its really nothing

the main point is just be carefull about how you do things what you say and who you do it to.  you might say something to one person and somone just gets the end of what you said and not the entire things gets upset and calls foul.   some people take games to seriously

Perhaps you were saying OOC jokes? you're supposed to remain in character at all times. most of the time people won't like it if you're out of character.

no most of my troubles come from IC actions....people apparently think i RP wrong ( as if there was such a thing ) and most times when i see somone get verbally thrashd they are OOC using the [ bracets ]  and not even talking to the person who runs up and decides to give them the 3rd deg. on what was said
i think it all comes to down to the point people tend to always think they are right and others are wrong.
and people also want the feelings of power.   both are human nature , just some people have more problems controlling the reptilian brain then other do
they also forget thats the function /ignore exists and could always politely ask somone to stop doing what they are doing, leave the area, or use /ignore

EDIT: were going off topic hehe
so back to the Ojafest.. along with the hide and seek game, we could play a game of FIND THE ITEM...hide something in the town and have a reward for finding it?   just would have to make sure the people involved are honest people.

Yeah, an Ojafest is a great idea! I will be there!
Interested in the circumstances though. How is the Ojafest ("Fest" is German!? Or short for festival?) explained ingame?
Tell me the tale!

To the humour: Nobody loughs about my dwarven-jokes. Especially not at the gold mine, they are all busy. (Okay, many dwarves there...)

Have the festival over the whole week end starting on Friday - then people running things can schedule them at any point they want - I don't want to read any "I have to work that day" posts it will be a nightmare to corrdinate - just post a general time table of events once you get commitments.

The dance contest using combinations of jump and sneak sounds cool as does the comidy acts - people can perform on the top of one of the levels - so even the dwarfs can see ;)

Not yet :)
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.
