Man thats odd.. hmm you didnt get in due to a style?...

This is 3d modeling, its sculpting, i could understand if you where a 2d artist or painter and they said your style didnt fit but modeling is sculpting its very very easy to adjust  styles and do variouse styles in 3D since your working from some ones elses concept rather than making the concept in the first place. Altering ones style in 2D is hard since you hands are accoustomed to the system, but 3d is just push vertex around and joining edges, a persons 3d style in modeling comes from what they visualise in there mind (ie there normal 2d style if there doing ther own work or) which is being taken from the concept there given from the 2d guys.

Im baffled by this out come, they need more modelers but refuse the good ones.

Although Kakoi you did seem to brush boonet off a little in your i dont like his he doesnt like mine, what both of you need to realise is.

Apparently, we have many people here in charge of deciding what the team must accept and what it must not accept...

Kakoii had some concept art to start from. He had some example models to follow. I gave him some suggestions on how to better fit what we need. He said his style is anime, and so different from ours and then said we can\'t work together because of this reason. Period.

I never said to him \'go away\'. We didn\'t have an argument. We went through this business in the most civil and non-hostile possible fashion. I will consider him for other tasks in the future, if necessary.

On the other hand,
I\'d be a fool to accept in the team some morons continuously showing around their asses saying \'look at me, Look at me, I\'m so cool\', that at the same time never produce for the team anything useable.

Of course I\'m not referring to Kakoii in this case.

I\'m confused...if Kakoii was only willing to do anime, then why the hell did he bother coming here and trying to join the team in the first place? The screenshots are very clearly not anime (thank you)...that was a little stupid

I recently started working with boonet on a model for planeshift. i can say from experience that there can be alot of differences in opinion even when working from refrence. drawings are often very general and unless there is a photo of several appropriate perspectives i think there would be much left to the imagination of the modeler. that being said there is alot of personal style that goes into modeling . when i started my character with boonet, my idea of a muscular male differed greatly from his .. and when he told me to add more muscle i really misunderstood what he meant! it can be a little frustrating i admit, but it\'s important to take into consideration the overall asthetic of the game, and whether or not it fits your personal style or you would be comfortable adapting . for me it just took a little adjustment and in the end we are both happy with the final model. working with others always takes a bit of compromise. it\'s too bad a talent like kaoiii was unwilling to compromise.
