What do you use to fill in? Pen?

Yes, although the scans do not show it very clearly, all the sketches are done in pen.

You don’t need to switch to pen just for shading.  :P
The following is one of my pencil sketches which I think has rather decent shading:

You should work in which ever medium you feel comfortable with.  The reason I started sketching in pen is because pencil drawings took me forever to finish simply because I kept erasing and redoing specific areas over and over.  Since it wasn't possible to erase pen it forced me to focus on each line individually and I found that this helped to improve my drawings.

Scorpion! You're amazing, mate :]
Yeah, and pen doesn't erase over time. I'm rather used to pencil. We'll see how I feel next time I submit a pen-job :]

Wow, that last drawing is interesting and pretty sweet. Nice work Kiraki.  I also like the Bhuuka. The effort you put into discribing the creatures you create is outstanding in my opinion. Hope to see some more. =D

Just another quick sketch.  :P

A Plakupel:  A small lizard like creature found in swamps and small ponds. Its body is protected by hard armor plates.  These are usually covered in algae helping it to blend in better with its surroundings.  Despite its rather bulky armor it can swim very swiftly feeding off small insects and fish.

Cute :D
Constructive criticisism: Make bolder lines to distinguish where the boneplates are and should end. Right now it looks roughly like armadillo scales :]

You've done it again, I love your work :D

Found this sketch I did a while back and had forgotten about.   Not quite sure what this creature is but it seems someone was able to tame it.
