Just an odd sketch of a tree. Needed to practice my pencil work a bit I have become too use to working in pen!



This critter is an Egra; a small little creature found in marshy areas.  Their legs cannot support their weight for long so they spend most of their time half submerged in mud.  Unable to run from predators they will sink down into the mud to hide and can stay submerged for hours.  They feed off insects and small animals that get trapped in the swamp.  Due to their lazy nature they move very little and subsequently need very little food, feeding only once or twice every few weeks.

This morning I decided I need a character description for Kiraki but I wasn’t really sure how to go about it. I have been practicing a lot of human anatomy lately so I thought I might as well draw something to see if the practice was paying off in any way.  I decided the best would be to sketch a few drawings and work from there. After playing around with some ideas I finally decided on this one:



This is a very rough drawing (More concept art than anything else) and doesn’t have much in the form of dept or shading and also needs to be cleaned up and redrawn neatly – preferably on white paper next time- but one gets the general idea I believe.  :P

very nice :) can't give any more tips, you do fine by yourself, so I'll just say this is very enjoyable art. I especially like your imagination and how you write a small explanation of each little beastie. Surely a thread I'll follow with interest.
