Please provide more information ;)
Also make sure you spelled that error right, as I'm having 0 search results on it here, and that's rare.

When I go to start the game, this pops up. And yes, I did spell it right. The whole message is : Something unexpected happened in PlaneShift: Crystal Blue Details: EXCEPTION_ACCESSS_VIOLATION at 00CA901C     Would you like to save as a diagnostic file?

Try rebooting your pc and reinstalling Planeshift.
Make sure you apply the patch and afterwards you use the updater.
Then try again and post the results here.

The updater did not work for me either. It would open up then the microsoft error would come up saying that it had to close the program. So i removed it from my computer and am now trying to download via utorrent, not the mirrors like I did before.

The download from the mirrors "should" be fine, but there's always the possibility of a corrupted download.
So reinstall with the new download, apply the patch and only then run the updater!
