editing personal history

Mmk, I couldnt find another topic like this in search, but im sorry if there is a topic like this one.

Anyways, how do I edit my characters personal history? I've already established my character in the world, as in hes leveled quite well and hes been through the creation process. So when i view anothers person's info, im jealous cause theirs is more personalized than what the crea :sorcerer:ting process gives you.

so. ..Is there a way to change it? or to have both?

Hello Szyx,

editing your personal history is quite easy:
go into your stats window (default hotkey "P"). Somewhere in the middle, between the picture of your
char and your skills must be some icons. I think the description window is the one that
looks like a little piece of paper.
I cannot go ingame now, so someone pllease correct me if I'm telling nonsense.

P. S. Make sure you do not mimic system information by writing "You try to evaluate the strengh ...." . This is
considered as cheating (I think Karyuu said that somewhere in a sticky).

Hi there, Szyx.

Unfortunately, I don't think you're able to edit the basic, fundamental character history chosen through character development.  I'm thinking that Pebbles is alluding to changing your description text -- i.e. what people read when they 'look' at you in-game -- but this doesn't change factors such as your parents names, occupations etc.

Given that those choices were fundamental in your character creation, and in fact used/spent character creation points to give you your starting skills, they're sort of inherent in who your character is by now, anyways.

Also, Karyuu's Gameplay FAQ touches on this slightly:

36.  I don't like my character creation choices, will you change my gender/race/etc?
The choices you have made for your character during the creation process are final – you can change them only by remaking your entire character. No developer or Game Master will make such changes for you.

you can edit your descripion in this window, by clicking the 'modify description' button in the middle of the screen. That way you change how others 'see' you. It obviously doesn't change the stat and skill influences connected with the choices made in the character creation process.

Note that just because you can't change the choices you made for your character's history doesn't mean you can't just ignore those choices for RP purposes. After all, if you change your description nobody will know what choices you made.

Alrighty, I think I understand now. Im gonna try what Pebbles said accordin to what I got out of it. Cause I do want to edit the Description people see, but if that isnt possible then its ok. Thanks for all of your help! ^_^

The choices you made in Character Creation matter not in the least. They are simply a way of building your stats. Ignore them if you wish, and make your own history.

Is there any way I can see the choices I made during the char creation process? When I modified the character description I erased pretty much everything. I thought that people shouldn't be able to find out things like my parents' professions by just looking at me. Sure I could just ignore the choices I made and write a whole different background for my character - just wouldn't want to start from the scratch with the story. Besides I had really cool names for my parents and now I can't remember them.

Too bad. The positive side is that I can use my imagination more freely now. I'm only sorry about forgetting the names since coming up with good ones always takes such a long time. Thanks for the quick reply!
