Moving character to a new account...

We have a small problem at my house regarding a shared account. I started the account and created my characters and was playing the game and having a jolly ole time. I allowed my boyfriend to create a character on my account (dumb I know), and now if we want to play at the same time one of us has to create a new account. His character is farther along than mine so by virtue of this I should create a new account and start all over... So my question is this, aside from shooting my boyfriend is there a solution? Can a character be moved to a new account? Help... I don't want to have to shoot him...

Aw, sorry Rhyanon..! I'm afraid you'll have to look into that Bersa Thunder .380 handgun now.

Characters belong to the accounts they are born to, and cannot be moved from one to another. You'll have to figure out how to proceed from here. If it's any consolation to you, we may have a wipe in the near future that will remove all characters and make everyone start over again anyway. (It's a necessary part of game development and testing, though we try to have wipes only when we absolutely positively need them and know that we won't need another in a very long time.)

Hold up there a second. I was told the wipe only removes leveled stats and items, but not the characters themselves. What is the truth?

Depends on the wipe, Moon.  A full wipe is a full wipe.  They wipe everything but the accounts.  I guess the last one happened while you were around but still had never played ^^.  Occasionally, though, they'll do a more minor wipe, such as the fairly recent one that got rid of all the excessively-uber weapons.

If all stats and items are removed, it's not much of a gain to still have your 'empty character' around. Plus since we have new skins (and are bound to have many more before a wipe) it will allow players to recreate their avatars with the appearance they want.

Also, if I remember correctly from when I started, new characters start out with 100 tria. If that's correct, then new characters will have an advantage over old characters who are wiped down to nothing, so you'd better just get rid of the characters.

new characters do not start with 100 tria. At least not when I made my other char. The only way to get those first tria is by doing the simple quests that do not require buying/mining.

Ouch, that is going to hurt. You see, ALL of my characters are 'empty', having never been leveled nor quested. It was the detailed descriptions and multiple characters themselves I was refering too. Stats can be regained, but it is hard to duplicate details you have been changing and adding to for many months as your character grows into his/her role, as I know many folks that do. Well....you can rewrite it all in another file, then retype it after the wipe, but that is a real pain.

If the desciptions can be uploaded from an offline XML or such, as the shortcuts are loaded into the client, then I have no arguements. Wipe away.
