Well, my alarm just went off for 7:59 (11:59 GMT)... so

Thank you to everyone who submitted entries!

If you didn't enter, perhaps because texturing isn't your thing, or you don't like rats... there will be more contests, never fear. Keep an eye on PS-MC and the PlaneShift irc channel topic for more news. (Yes, I realize there is no post about this contest on the PS-MC page... this is my fault I suppose for forgetting ;) ). I will need to talk with Talad, but hopefully we can showcase everyone's submissions as soon as we find a winner. Fingers crossed.
But for now...

Do not post your entries publically (yet)!

Another thing: opinions or comments on the entry submission form? Did you think it was simpler than sending PMs? Feedback appreciated.

Very nicely done! Well-thought out, very professional.
It feels a lot more professional than a PM (and is probably very slightly easier to use)... more importantly, (I'm making some assumptions about what's happening on the back-end) it probably scales a lot better than a PM from your POV -- if you were inundated with hundreds of entries, I presume it's much easier to manage in this format.

YaY! fun contest!
(although I think it was a little nasty chosing a model which would likely have a heavily-textured skin running across seams...  ::)  )

It is really nice to see the community/fans taking an interest like this in helping to grow the game. :-)

Texturing alternative mobs is something we have now found that we can ask the community to do and which the community seems to be capable of.  This is good news for monster variety in the future. :-)

Congrats to all participants, winner or not.

I would like to say it again, this is great, for me the spirit of planeshift seems more open, less elite developers that have the ultimate power (well, they still have it, but at least there is the illusion that the community has some to ;-) ), and this is great for a open source game.

instead of just repeating what two poeple said up there and everyone else is thinking, I'll just agree with all that!! :D

also... contests where the prize is having your stuff ingame... are all those contests to come, atleats for a while, going to be texturing contests? :sweatdrop:

If you are planning on showing them all off, anyway, why don't you just post them, and let everyone vote on the one they like best?

showcasing seems like a grand idea... unless theres too many!... and also Talad has the final say in what goes in game so voing would sort of be pointless... but of course votes are always fun even if they ARE pointless!! \\o// :lol:
