Things to do in Germany
« on: February 10, 2003, 07:46:31 am »
Over spring break I am touring Germany with my choir and recording a CD.  Fortunately my 17th birthday also falls into this bracket of time, and it is on St. Patrick\'s Day.  Any beer suggestions?  Or bars?  I\'m not sure what part of Germany we will be in on that day, but this is a cause for discussion anyway.

You can try and rent those high quality German \"art films\" that\'s one of the things that comes to mind.
Drinking, ah, are you sure you are allowed to drink at 17 in Germany? If I am wrong, pardon my ignorance, and happy driking/B-day. Stay away from the black beer...whatever it\'s called. That stuff has got a foul bitter taste to it.

Of this I\'m sure: there is no legal drinking age in Germany.  The legal buying age is 16 for beer and 18 for hard liquor.  It\'s not like I don\'t drink now just because of some silly law.  I mean, its college for god\'s sake.

I have a friend that lives in Germany and from what she says beer is VERY cheap, so go nuts :)

Just remeber, if u wake up naked in a public bathroom wearing a wig and disover a pierced body part and a phone number in your hand, it\'s probably not a good idea to call that number. But hey it would make a great story :)

Have fun!

Head a few miles east into the Czech Republic. Officially hailed as having the best beer in the world. Alternativelly, try to pick up a Czech brand (we export quite a lot, althout the Germans won\'t admit it) or a Pilsen style (Pilsen is a town in the Czech republic which makes excellent beer) beer which is bound to taste good. If your in some dunghole than nobody will give a damn about your age anyway, so drink on!!!
