As I saw the official GO! from the devs I decided to update myself. So... I try. I update once, it updates my servers.xml file. I knew I should've set the updater not to do that anymore.... *mumbles*
* Ralleyon sighs
On second run it actually finds something and tries to update the updater. And I update it... and update it... and update it... and stilll nothing. The updater surely downloaded something but nothing changed. "What in the..." I say to myself.
* Ralleyon scratches his head
I look in the PS folder, under
updatertemp. Would'ya look at that! The rascal apparently he
did download the new updater files but doesn't do anything about them . I hold my mouse over the thingy to see some properties and indeed it is the 0.3.16 updater as the pop-up message appears.
* Ralleyon scratches his head again
So, I take the new files from the
updatertemp directory, minus the zip file which I believe to be a backup copy of some critical files in case the update goes horribly wrong and copy them in the PS folder. Basically, it will replace some files in various directories and the
updater.exe as well.
After that just run updater.exe as you normally would and expect a ~8MB of download, comprised of art mostly and a few xml files. And there you have it! It's up-to-date!
PS: Oh, and one last note. Prepare to wait for this a bit if you don't have a decent downloading speed. I really don't know how the updater does his magic but those 8MB sure take a while... so be patient and wait for it to finish. There's more to it than just the downloading part, that's for sure (like putting those new files in the corresponding places, including zip files). Don't forget to back-up your original PS folder in case this screws things up.
