I just get pissed off when idiots run around thinking they're all great and have the best guild. These are the people Zayek should be banning, I can't believe I'm saying it but I wish he was back now. Too bad it doesn't apply for the forums, but any guild like this ingame, or anyone acting like this ingame, should just be banned without warning. I don't want anymore crap, and I want to roleplay with people who actually have something other than vampires or 1337 skillz to roleplay about.

I might not have explained myself very well.  We were making fun of all of those silly guilds with bad histories and the like.  Those definately need criticism.  We were also trying to make the point that flaming them is competely pointless. They will never learn unless someone tries to help them instead of insulting them.  Better to try to help them see what is wrong with what they are doing and help them overcome the deficiencies in their guild than saying OMG YOU SUCK!  I'm not saying you should "support" the newb guilds - and that s not what colinb was doing at all.  He was saying that every idea can be morphed into something fun interesting and useable with enough patience, openmindedness, and a bit of help from expirenced players and guild leaders who have all been through this..

I say all this because PlaneShift is growing in popularity.  More and more new guilds are rising and falling.  We have an opportunity to show them what a wonderful world planeshift can be.  Lets not retreit into our shells and shun the new people for not understanding the dynamics of the game.  Lets take them under our wings and be a real community.  A community which is here to help teach and educate, and to enjoy each others company and to marvel in the wonderful magical land that planeshift has created for us.

Sure we can hope that all the people comming to planeshift will know how to act ingame, and how to roleplay.  But thats not realistic.  We could say ok we have players who already care so screw the newbs but most people don't stay forever and the pool of people you are roleplaying with will slowly dwindle.  The key too keeping the ingame expirence good for RP is to teach RP.  Sure some players are going to be young.  They will be frustrating to deal with.  But if you really want this community to be an enjoyable one its not unreasonable to try to help people adapt to the game in a way that make the game more enjoyable for everyone involved

And you made all these posts to explain it. Listen, the forums are moderated enough with all the rules, and people acting like this are (or should) be banned on the spot ingame for acting so childishly and interrupting all roleplay with spam about recruiting for their guild. This prank is more or less a waste of my time.

And Rayven, I'll take you up on that offer tomorrow. =P
