Why not?

I was asking venge, but i'm sure you have the info as well, is it undecided as to which race or city is to be implemented next?

Do you want to keep it a surprise?

What has talad instructed about giving this info? Is he fine with it being shared with the community?

* Pestilence looks at Syilph

AAHHH prealpha? Does the dev team even know what that means? That means the work you do BEFORE the alpha. And the alpha is the first version you can walk around and actually start doing things and believe me since CB we have long left the PRE-alpha behind.

* Pestilence grumbles

Actually, I'd call it advanced-alpha-almost-beta-stage but that was what everybody called it so far, pre-alpha. What I actually ment was to point out that the game is still under developpment. Whatever you want to call it, I'm ok with it. Here's a suggestion: How about fun-to-play stage? :P

probably's of having 1 or more citys in first lvl of yiliakum  :P (just speculation)

Xacha: no references
Ylians: 25%
Nolthrir: no references, how did they get to yiliakum?
Dermorians: no reference
Clan Stonebreaker: no references
Clan Hammerwielder: no references
Lemurs: 15%
Kran: 15%
Diaboli: 10%
Enkidukai : 25%
Klyros: no references
Ynnwns: 10%

some of the settings references :)...
4th epoch: "Hydlaa filled quickly: besides the strong presence of Lemurs and Kran, Ylians and Enkidukai arrived from the Stone Labyrinths."

"The first two levels of Yliakum - the only ones where it was possible to farm - were worked more intensely. On the first level, the stolid Ylians claimed the absolute ownership of the ground that they were farming, refusing to share with other races. They built fences and walls, and began to look at books about armies and armed defense. The Enkidukai that lived in the same area were driven away and this was considered an intrusion in their freedom. The tension between the two races increased, and some of them clashed, but Talad was able to control their anger and to bring back the stability."

this post is all speculation and not accurate >o)

Do you want to keep it a surprise?

From what I have learned over the year, when a new client is about to be released the Dev team is very hintful but they do not tell us much. I think they like to have it be a surprise, although sometimes they give sneak previews. For example they have told us that each race will have their own city. They have not however told us when they will be implimenting these cities and which will be next. I think they like to surpise us with it, and not have everything foreseen by the players. It is rather exciting come new client time to wonder what will be implimented into game this time. I don't think it would be much fun unfortantly if we all knew when and were things would appear.

My personal opinion on this is I like to have only the partial answers and sneak peeks, because this last client release was a huge treat when I began to see how many new places, and systems had been implimented. I believe also that it helps restore old players interests in the game because there are new items, places, NPC's, and quests to check out. :thumbup: In other words I think ignorance is a bliss on this one.

Aye.. generally.. just keep your pants on..

The devs really don't owe us anything. They already give us plenty of presents every few months and they keep it a nice surprise so we're always guessing and speculating as to what will come next. "Will it be another city? Wait. Ojaveda moved? Where? Which way is East? Armor!? Sneaking!? Water!?"

Thats just a summary of what the forums were like during the Server downtime before the last new client release. Its a very exciting time for the community and the Devs as well, i think. I think we're all comfortable enough with letting the Devs and other higher-ups guide the game in the right direction. I think they have a good opinion as to what they want, along with what the community expects and thus, we will have a more full Planeshift world with every few months.

We're all excited, just keep it positive. ;)

Not at all. Everything we do is under the NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) and cannot be shared or discussed with the public until it is public. Unless Talad himself decides to reveal the sort of major answers you are asking for, we are simply not allowed to give them. It's very serious, and people who leak information are bringing about their own death in the team ;P

Take a look here. That is not under any non-disclosure agreement and gives us plenty hints on what the devs are doing. I see them doing something, fixing, adding, improving almost every freakin' day. The thing is, unless it's got anything to do with graphical things or blatant settings/game mechanics that cannot go unnoticed, people don't realize how much work is getting done.

Look for yourselves.  :)

Datruth,

As others have described, we do not divulge progress on content until release time, with very few exceptions.  This is not one of those exceptions.

When you take into consideration the patch for the Windows updater, it becomes a bit more complicated - especially for folks who don't understand .zips ;)
