Phinehas, I was not saying you could or could not talk, I was just saying atleast give them a chance before you predict thier downfall.
They have been weighed, they have been measured, and they have been found wanting.

I really want to flame people for dissing the WoA and for being overly judgemental about the Yliakum Knights history.
Yeah maybe it does have some serious errors in Grammar and also spelling but thats not the point, its not a novel, its a history for a guild in a PC game. it would be better if the english was accurate but it isnt.
The fact that they have been judged to fail by someone whos opinion they should really not care about is rediculous.
Does the english involved even matter? Whats more important, that or the spirit in which it was written, atleast they have made an attempt at it.

As for WoA, get over it, guilds come and go, should all the players stop playing? should the change their Characters?
Is it  unthinkable (IC) that when a Guild collapses that the members would move on in their lives? or would they all be so shamed they would kill themselves.
Some seem to forget that this is not RL and is actually a PC game, the idea of which is to have fun, if that is the case then WoA must be one of the most sucsessful Guilds.
Things like this make me wonder whether it is even worth coming up with a guild history just to be knocked down by people who THINK they are superior.

I hope for your sake that wasn't directed towards me. Was it?

Some was, yes, some wasn't. I'm refering to the responses in this topic as a whole. I'm well aware that you didn't remark about WoA.
But your judgements about their guild history are just unwarranted.
Oh, and the final line was actually directed at you specifically.

What have I said about their guild history? As I see it I said "No originality. No grammar." The "No originality" comment was not about the history itself, but about the guild itself, and I stand by it. The "No grammar." comment was simply an amusing side note. Please stop making it sound like I've written pages of flaming posts saying how utterly moronic their history is.

I realize that. What you have to realize is that I don't think of myself as better. I think of myself as more experienced. I am. If you can't tell the difference, I can.

Ok, you may be more experienced, you obviously think so,

They have been weighed, they have been measured, and they have been found wanting.

That comment is what led me to believe you were judging the history of the guild and thinking you were better than them, I  may have been wrong but your last post just reaffirmed that belief in my mind. If that was not a judgement I don't know what is. Were your comments in any way constructive?

I didn't in anyway suggest you had written pages of flames about this, but people have written pages of unconstructive comments.
I just believe it would be better for them and the community as a whole if you used your experience to help rather than to judge.

All I can say is  :offtopic:

Can we stop with the arguing and keep this thread about the guild.

That comment was simply a reiteration of my first post.

I believe in a trial by fire. I cannot spend all my time studying every guild, and offering thoroughly thought-out suggestions that most likely won't even be considered. All I'm saying is, this guild is not original. If it is not made more original, it will most likely not survive.

Hopefully, you would then logically conclude that you should make your guild more original. I can't tell you how to do that, it's not my guild. However, you could look around, study other guilds, ask people for suggestions, read posts like Hierarchy Atrocities. It's your guild, not mine, you take the initiative in improving it.

Trial by fire is not a good idea and turns people off even wanting to try.
The guild may not have totally original ideas, and, I must say, does not have an original name (sorry Gondric).
I just think you could either have commented constructively or at the very least not commented at all.
And can I point out that this is not my guild and I am not a member of it.
If you wish to respond further i would reccomend it was in PMs so as not to get this topic locked or deleted.

Thank you for stopping this in the thread. Taking the sensible approach.

To be honest, who gives a damn whether they are original or not? They are organising RP events and they are enjoying playing the game, seems like a pretty good thing if you ask me.

I think it should be argued here in the open, because it's important to the guild. Would you have me whisper about them behind their backs? I have no desire to discuss my attitude towards guilds in general or some such thing. I believe that topic came up when everyone started telling me to not say anything.

All I really want to do in this thread is to talk about the guild.

I still believe that this guild is not original, and that steps should be taken to make it more original. I doubt you care what I think, but if you do, great! If you want me to give advice on what you could improve, ask for it!
