Then you get a bunch of other conflicts, as Pterosaurs are a not at all unusual method of transportation (in the Scheme of Things when you look at the Big Picture). In real life, this would be comparable to a group of people trying to battle/outlaw horses (in say, a kingdom where horses are only for the elite). It just sounds crazy, and there's no way my character for example would take any of it seriously.

They can hunt a very rare never seen kind that would match the description they posted first. A wild, bigger, meaner horse? They could swear they exist...

They would still be making up properties of what is otherwise a horse :> I would recommend the Carkarass still, since wanting to destroy a monster in the woods/DR is far more believable than hunting 'wild mustangs'.

Maybe the "Giant Carkarass", then? :P The point is they could use creatures that are in the settings...

Well if we wouldn't compare it to a horse but to a dog. Wild dogs are known to exist and demondogs or hellhounds definately exist in the legends. Also there are also the not so tame wolves that are family to the dog.

And yes wolves are tottally not that agresive and are really over used by hollywood and all but you could stiill say they are hunting down the not tamed variant to our comon horsie? ;)

Maybe the storie could be that they were magically tamed and that there were also failures and that those developed very agresive and couldn't be controlled?

ahh well reaching for straws seeing that would make them more like rangers then "ratters"but still :P

That wouldn't give them anything to do right now than RP using text. It'll be ages before we see Pterosaurs in-game, while the Carkarass is already here and will only expand its territory :>

hmm becuase

A. It's OOC ;)

B. GMs are very invisible so that would work much anyhow

C. As I said GMs aren't online that much and would hate to see them turn inactive becuase some newb starts harrassing them in tells that they are "all gonna die". Frustrating enough of a job as it iis ;)

Karyuu is right. End of story. Move on with your lives. ;)

I strongly suggest disbanding this guild. I mean, since it's fairly obvious that hunting dragons is out, none of the in-game monsters are really ferocious enough to warrant a whole guild dedicated to their eradication.

I don't think that because hunting dragons won't work in PS's setting that they can't RP that they are hunting dragons.  That said I think without anyone else in the entire PS world participating, it would get quite dull and the guild would simply die out.  There would be nothing to really do... no reason to even level sword skills because the dragons you are hunting are not really ingame, so all you'd have to do is RP that you are a superior swordsman....It all sounds to me like they need something else to do.  A hunters guild might be interesting, but make it sort of mercenary.  You could be a guild that can be called upon to hunt down a ferocious ulbernaught, or something of the kind... a tefusang thats been let loose in hydlaa.... or lured there, etc...

No need to tell them to disband... if the idea doesn't work out the guild will disband itself through inactivity.  Really though I'd hope they would simply evolve into something more workable.

You're right, they could RP that they're hunting dragons, but came to the wrong world by accident, or are still searching all the nooks and crannies "just in case".

I'm just saving their time and my patience.

Some people learn lessons best by being allowed to make mistakes.  Live and learn as they say.  Not everything can be taught with words alone.

I prefer trial by fire. You either thrive, or die in a horribly, gruesomely unmentionable sort of way.

Preferably at the hands of Dragons?

Anyways I think we've hijacked this thread a bit too much already.  Cedermoon I'd recommend you let this thread die.... that is if I'd quit posting...
Once you've done that you can get a fresh start, adjust your ideas according to some of the positive criticism.

Hold on, "positive criticism"? What's that?

I just want to state right now that I have no qualms whatsoever about spamming other guilds' threads. At least what we're saying is vaguely interesting and amusing, better than the original purpose of this guild.

On a side note to Karyuu: I warned you how it would be.
