Changes for the future?...
« on: September 12, 2006, 08:57:02 pm »
This is just a question...what, of the things that are currently active in PS, are going to be changed?

Hopefully the type of combat and magic system, also would the training system change, or the way it is now is basically the way it'll be, or close to.

And there are multiple other things, but what so far are definatly going to change...or if the list is shorter(because I imagine a lot of the things that are currently active will be changed) could you tell me what WON'T be changed?

Everything will be changed or at least adjusted. I know one of the things that won't change is probably the way you talk to NPCs - meaning that you will never see a drop-down box with available phrases that you just click on. You'll always have to type what you want to say.

But when it comes to combat, magic, crafting, training, guilds, buddy lists, movement, pets, nothing is solid. We're looking to get as many things basically working as possible before starting to think of adjustments and improvements for them, so complete redesigns aren't going to pop up for a long time still.

Oh ok! I didn't realize that you wanted to get basically everything working before you changed anything...

I was thinking this whole time "I hope this isn't how we're going to be doing magic/crafting/combat forever"

That's a relief. :)

Oh, definitely :] We're making baby steps and building a foundation before expanding on it. It would be awkward if we designed for example a combat system we consider 'final' and then later find that it conflicts with plans for something else we really need but have not built yet.
