Hmm, the axe looks cool, shame about the positioning of  the render, the  head looks to have some nice textures on it, but is  kinda hard to tell from that angel.

Nice Rose  though.

Much better! A nice looking texture for sure.

Edit: Is the quibasca all one model?
From that angle it looks like the head and wings where made seperatly. I'm just saying because the first time I modeled a creature I made it all seperatly, but then I was advised to make it all from one cube. It took alot of time but it paid off. Actually the original creature looked quite crappy, but i made a few more since then (there was that textured one in my thread) and making it all from one cube has definatly made a differance to the model quality.

Mind you I've never made a creature with wings so i dont how easy they are to make from exrude and still appear like wings. In my limited experiance its the textures that make up all the small bone details :)

Hope that didnt sound too critical, I do like it, just some feindly advice/observations, because i think you could make it better :)

Yes seperate models. Extruding everything seemed like to much of a pain in the backside because I'm not sure about adding faces exactly where you want them and what not. All I know about blender is from Cherppows thread and my smaking every button to see what it did when the model was annoying me.

Hehe, hitting eveything is a good way to start.
Extruding everything can be pain in the arse, but at the end worth it, that said I dont use blender, apart from trying to get the .dts exporter to work, I dont really like blender at all.  and if you want faces in a certain place just merge two together, or bevel a line and create a new one.

What other programmes do you recogmend to use? I'm enjoying doing 3D modeling at the moment but I wouldnt like to have to pay for somthing unless its really worth it.

I use wings, I like the interface alot more and I just generally find it easier to use than blender. I could probably get head around belnder if i tried, but to be honest I can do what I can do, modeling wise, with Wings. So why bother changing?

For 3D modelling, I use milkshape. Its so easy for a starter at 3D modelling, the interface is small, and easy to use and learn. You aren't bombarded with buttons, so you can learn the tools quickly.

Also, if you just do a google search for "Milkshape tutorials" there are some good starter tutorials to get you going.
