[Guild] The Warriors
« on: September 14, 2006, 12:10:07 am »
The warriors were formed to Protect and serve the citizens of Yliakum, in more ways than one.
Apart from being a powerful fighting force, their goals are 10 fold.

Many people arrive in Yliakum every day, these people need help and guidance.
The warriors see themselves as perfect for this role, as new residents need protection against the various forces that lurk within our world.

The warriors also see themselves as hosts, and plan to host regular events that will attract people from all walks of life. Warriors, scholars and traders alike will be able to take part in events hosted by us. Though excellence in the fighting arts is what allows us to fulfil our role in times of need, our members are encouraged to pursue diverse arts and crafts, so as to be productive members of society in times of peace.

One of our main principles is that we believe that all people are equal and deserve to be treated as such, and so all races are welcome to join us.
We will fight Evil wherever it may lurk.  We understand that the foe’s forces are great, and that in all likelihood there will always be Evil.  But we will be there to prevent it from taking a foothold over our land, and Evil will find in us a most formidable opponent.  To that end, we commit our lives to honing our skills.

We want the world to remain fair and equal for all.  We won’t become tyrants through our strength, but won’t allow anyone else to try it.  Though we will not go out of our way to start a war, woe on those who would challenge us, for they shall meet all our might!

hmm well OOC sounds like a good guild. IC I am thinking it's a rather easy name and wondering what your IC purpose is.

Mmm... nice art... Rather too nice... Makes me suspicious. That's about it. It's not terribly original, not very thought out, or at least not presented completely. You could make it work, but you'd have to have an extremely tenacious grip on it, and I doubt you have it in you, frankly.

[Completely OOC... Well, the artwork is 100% original and i dont know why i bothered postong this, i knew it would be followed by the usual negativity these forums posess on a daily basis. My guild has been active for 10 months now, and is 30 strong in members. I sugest if you dont have anything nice to say in future, you just dont say anything.]

That's pretty impressive then.

Big words. Frankly, if you don't like the reply you were expecting to get here, then why did you bother? According to you your guild is flourishing, yada yada yada, so why was this thread necessary if you were so pessimistic about it in the first place?

Also, you have to admit that it's not actually possible for me to form any positive thoughts about your guild when your member list lists a grand total of three members, not thirty, and your forums don't appear to work, or at least they're not visitor friendly. Frankly, from your site and your post, the only thing I can see you really have going for you is fantastic artwork. That's nice, but definitely not enough to support a guild.

Don't get all pessimistic about posting here if you're not even going to have up-to-date information on your site. I mean, what did you expect? Asking me to be impressed with your guild from the information given is like showing someone a sound card and saying, "Don't I have an awesome computer?"

i just want to recommend that you make a non-flash site too - bear in mind that planeshift is played by a lot of linux users and flash can be quite annoying there (eating 100% of your cpu). on a personal note, i dont like flash-only sites at all, but that's up to opinion ;)

there is more to find than you can lose...

I was talking about Proteous and the "two other members" mentioned on his site. Since that was all that was listed, I somehow assumed that that was all there were(strange, I know), and so concluded that this was a new guild being started.

Well the site is currently still under construction. The old site that we had up can be found here: http://www.freewebtown.com/proteous The reason there are only three members listed is because i am waiting for the server to come back up as i cant remember everyones ranks. As for the forums they work perfectly fine and can be found here: http://proteous.iphorum.com personaly and after speaking to other people, i am of the understanding that you are just one of those people that like to knock people down all the time.
As for why i posted this thread, it was purly because people kept telling me to post here and let the forum users know we are here, and get listed as a recognised guild, which if you spent half as much time in PS as you do on the forums, you would already know that we are well established and very much thriving guild.

Funnily enough, I haven't even said anything that scalding. If you can't stand a little criticism, well... Just be glad I post my opinions with more than just a desire to "knock people down all the time". I have explained my posts once, and will not do so again.

You are right, he just caught me when i felt like killing something.. PS was down, so he suffered my wrath... well mild insults.....

Anyway Back to the plot. We are currently seeking new members. There was a time when we only recruited true warriors, however we soon realised that we could not go on like that. So  now we are seeking crafters and mages a like, so if you are looking for a guild to join and want to know more about us, just see us IG.
