raiders fortress attack

i was thinking about his for a while, a war in witch a large group of raiders have been tracked to thier fortress and must be made sure that they will not fight again for a while or if possible wiped out, now the story is so:

it was a cool crisp night with smoke in the air, it has been so for a while now,the gaurds of hydlaa are watching out on their posts for a fast enemy that may be able to take them by suprise. the first thing that alearted the gaurds was the sound of fumberling in the darkness beyond the north gate, then they looked and saw a torch burning reveling a crawling figure in black robes. the head of gaurd ordered the gate open for this person as he looked wounded. the closer he got the more obvious the arrows in his back were becoming , like a porcupine missing alot of his spines, the three gaurds ran down to him to aid him. he spoke softly "the raiders of a tribe of ten are.. in thier fortress atop a water fall in ..." with that the man died, the three gaurds rushed him into a room and idetified the arrows.
"they are of the rare water leech treeĀ  found only in two places, the road to ojavada and broze doors," siad the gaurd named lysander
"then he must have gone thier and been hit by the raiders,do you think they followed him?" asked the second gaurd called maino
"no they wouldnt have, theses are posioned, taken him 5 days to get here at least maybe even 8! we must see to this threat" called out the finally guard named only badit bane. at first light a cout unit was sent out to report that night at dusk or action will be taken, they never returned


so that is the setting and this wil involve two sides: the raiders and the fighter and miltia of hydlaa, also amoungst these people are going to be some heros

hydlaa:
lysander
bandit bane
maino
lu (leader of the towns folk militia)

raiders:
snot-stuffer(raider 2nd in command)
hilo (cheif assain)
5 assain body gaurd (for hilo)

write here (on this post) if you want to be included as a hero or fighter (heros preferbly very strong poeple)

Sounds nice... my only question would be: has this happened In-Game? (the encounter between Lysander and the the others?) If the answer is "no", I would try to start your RP by creating that situation and letting those who witness it get involved as they wish. It will not be over on the same day and you wouldn't have to write script to play out or cast for the parts of "heroes" and "villains".

i will do that encounter when planeshift is back online! :)

as for the casting parts thats silly, im just trying to make it more involving for players rather than having "hey lets ahve a big battle between good and evil!" the hero's and villians are for makin the game involved but no auditions if you think you can withsatnd the heat of battle sure, tell me who you want to be and you are them (i just dont want new players comng and saying hey i can win for us and getting the hero's and dieing, leaving the army leaderless after 5 minutes, hero's have to prove themself)

What I meant was that instead of saying: there should be this and this and this, you should let it all happen in-game and then say "there was this, and this and this...". You want a group of raiders? Create it with real characters in-game. That takes more time but it's worth it. If you'll RP what you mentioned in your first post, you'll probably have to change the actors in it afterwards (using the names of the characters you find and who join your plot). I don't know if the ones you mention (Lysander, Maino, and the others) already exist or if youl'll be behind them all. Alts are useful to add layers to the plots but you can only play a few of them and their parts can't be too big (otherwise it canivalizes the parts other players could take and you might end up RPing with yourself), so keep that in mind. As I said, this one sounds like fun and if my character is nearby when it starts, she will probably get involved somehow, but I'm not a fan of RP-movies (scripted, directed and with an already chosen end).

it's not scirpted and that would be completly stupid making nopoint of the rp!

well based on what you said here goes:

hero's and villians will be assigned names after the person those names were only ment to be for example!(i could have put guard 1, guard 2.....)

but the actuall winner is decided by people

it would be great if we could all get togather in a huge gruop to play
exuces are silly "i am not a fighter"

my reply: "then you have been drafted into the militia!"

so it would be great if we had some real unstopperbal poeple in this and some really weak poeple
this will also help the whole rp thing as new players will be able to see what it is

i would like to point out that armys may arm their soilders (please return after the battle from whom you got from)

im alos thinking that neutrall army like um a big one of just for the fight would be cool

I am not trying to be awkward here, but do you really think players will want to have you 'assign' their names for them? If so you have very little in role-playing games. In most where there is a storyteller, yes the storyteller has a role to play in character creation, but names are always down to the player, the story teller just helps create the scene with which the player can define their character. If I was you i would get rid of your cast list and just get players who you would like involved and have them roleplay your  story, I am sure that this would give much better results than 'assigning' names and roles to characters. A player will be muched more immersed and the roleplay much more creative if the player has choice in the character they are playing.

Thats not what he was saying (i think). He was saying that the characters involved when the little scenario that was the origanal post is RPed ingame the the characters involved would have different (their own) names to the one in the description of the event that hasnt happened yet. On the off chance that makes sense and is wrong i apollogise in advance.

i was trying to help set a scene!

look the heros and villians are as such as listed BUT the names may change to the players being a hero, i would prefer the heros to have the chartistics listed in the story but you can expand on that
