Very New Update

*sighs* As far as I can tell... there is no Mac client yet. You have new up-to-date data files that are crashing the client (the client doesn't understand them). You guys are just gonna have to hold tight till dfryer gets the client out. He'll post when it's ready.

I have come across something very curious, a way to run the new version of planeshift (although, it is kinda annoying to run it this way)
First, you need to have Xcode installed (I have only tested this on the newest version)
In /Developer/Applications/Performance Tools, there is a program called Shark. This is what you use to run planeshift.
Open Shark
From the left-hand drop down menu, select Malloc Trace
In the right hand drop down menu, select Launch...
In the window that pops up, select the executable (this will be psclient in whatever directory you put it).
Select OK, now planeshift should run.
You have to do this everytime until the PS team fixes the problem.

[duthsa] Shark is part of the Developer Tools. This usually does not come pre-installed but it will be on the disks that came with your computer. The install for XCode and everything else about 1.2 Gigs, just FYI.

[macchief] This did work for me. The first time I did it the Malloc trace had not started, so the psclient.app quit as expected. But I was able to start the client and get to the login screen with Shark properly doing its trace the second time. But the client will not login, as it is older than the update files coming in, as ChaOs said. So we must wait for now...

[gandalf59] That is the virtual file system config you are messing with? Hmmmm.... I would probably make a post about doing that. I think I know what the answer might be...

The problem is in the vfs.cfg file! If you change all "$@" with "$^" then the client dont crach anymore. But after the update the client is still 0.3.015b.

i changed them but client/updater is not vvorking

I miss playing my Planeshift *tear*  I hope the Client comes out soon.....is it coming within the next few days?
