Notice: Windows XP binary update crashes Updater
« on: September 15, 2006, 07:22:13 pm »
Ran updater under the following conditions:
Windows XP + Planeshift 0.3.15 binary + 0.3.15b patch
Windows XP + Planeshift 0.3.15 binary

Both situations cause the updater to crash repeatedly. This crash has been confirmed by multiple people using XP.

Hi there little Wayfarer :)
If you let the updater update untill it crashes, you must go to updatertemp, copy the exe there over the main updater.exe and then launch again. That should work.
This only seems to work when you have updater *before* this update though, or else you won't have an updatertemp.

This is still a big issue though as the updater dies *before* it creates the updater.exe on new installs.
