Whats the full list of minerals you can mine for? I'm not asking for locations of where to mine any of it.

Kiraki,

Just a note for the curious.   It is conceivable that liguid mercury can exist in puddles or droplets in the open.  However, one really does mine for mercury, which is most usually found in the form of the mineral cinnebar (HgS - Red mercuric sulphide).  The cinnebar is processed to extract the mercury (in ancient times by crushing).

You can mine for anything but you won't likely find anything but the above mentioned metals/minerals. I myself have a macro for mining those as well as copper, lead and a few other things just in case. I use it to prospect. So far I haven't found anything nobody els has but I'm looking all the same. The macro is essentially a list of /dig commands one per line followed by a /roll command so I can be sure the macro has completed and not been lost due to lag. Then I run around madly pressing the macro key while navigating likely locations. It does sometimes come up with false positives though usually near minefields of some other type. They only happen when moving and can never be pinned to one spot to actually dig. What usually happens is a list of "you don't see a good place to dig" I prefer to use it without a pick in hand so I get one "you don't have a tool..." error (if you actually find something) and a bunch of "you don't see a good place to dig." You can then scroll up the status window and see which command gave you the "tool" error and know what you have found. If you use it with a tool in hand you get a bunch of "you are already busy" errors. these errors flood the screen while the others just fill the chat window.

Just curious, has anyone found any mines in the first area on the way to oja or is it pretty much useless land at the moment? The four rogues are about the only thing of interest in it as far as I can tell.

Aie Kelden, true, although mercury is usually not found naturally in its liquid state and you would almost always be mining for the ore not the metal.  Perhaps I should have phrased myself differently: One cannot mine mercury directly but instead need to mine its associated minerals.  Even then extreme care needs to be taken as mercury is a disastrous environmental contaminant and also highly toxic.  Working with it directly can severely influence the nervous system as well as causing other detrimental effects.

My point is that it is not something to simply be mined easily and would be a lot more difficult to obtain than the rest.  It would in fact probably need a very different kind of specialist than a miner to actually extract the mercury itself.

well don't we just have a group of... miners on our hands!

@bilbous-- doesn't that take what little fun it already had out of prospecting?...
