It depends on what you have running :] With a ton of intensive applications open alongside with PlaneShift, you're bound to see a slowdown unless you have a very strong system. There is also the chance that PlaneShift didn't exit properly once and is still running in your memory while you try to open another client. Look for a psclient.exe in your process list and kill it before starting again.

If you're experiencing a lot of slowdown, perhaps post your system specs? :]

Also, you can change the title just by editing your post.

proccesses slowing you down?

I presume you know how to bring up task manager then.

open it up, and take a screenshot of all the proccesses under your 'username' (click the name tab til yours are all in view)

paste the screenshot into paint, don;t forget to hide anythign important, if its in view, uplaod the screenie to somewhere like photobucket.com, link it here, I'll see what you can kill off that might help

to get your specs go Start>run>dxdiag they;ll come up there on that first tab, copy and paste ^^

Not a problem! I presume you're using Windows, so click on the Start button and then choose "Run..." and type in dxdiag.

In the Window that comes up, at the bottom you will se your processor and RAM amount, and then if you click on the Display tab, you'll see what your graphics card is (whether an Nvidia GeForce somethingsomething, or ATI, or something else entirely). It would also help if you mention the driver version it shows.

thats a hardware upgrade, basically take it to a shop (private owned small ones are better) and ask for a ram upgrade, either that or try to do it yourself

RAM is memory, and 512 is really the minimum you should have to run the game fairly smoothly. With half of the minimum required, you're bound to have the game run much slower than it should. How is your graphics card?

Another reson it may be slow is that doing web research, your video card isn't exactly a video card, more so it's a onboard chispset of part of your motherboard.  ( http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intel865g/sb/CS-009168.htm?iid=graphics+865main& )

Typically, on board chipsets, aren't capable of running 3d games as smoothly as a video card,  and some can't run them at all.

Your best bet would be to load up the PS Setup program and tweak the options a bit to increase performance.  It won't be as pretty that way, but your preformance should increase.
