Heaviest metal band you listen to?

I really listen to very large variety of music.  It all really depends on my mood that day. 

Mostly I listen to stuff like Fokofpolisiekar, Rammstein, Ill Nino, Trivium, Disturbed, System of a Down or even Wednesday 13 (Also I loved the Roadrunner United CD).   

Other times I am simply in the mood for something different and I listen to Nightwish, Unwritten Law, Yellow Card, Animal Collective, Placebo ooh and don’t forget Flogging Molly!

The heaviest metal band I listen to are probably Trivium, or Dragonforce. They rule

I mostly like Punk (Anti-flag  ), metal (System of A down  you gotta love them  ) Hardrock (Metallica , and a bit Motörhead), sometimes Creative mixtures of music styles (ofcourse with rock:P) like "Rage against the machine", "Muse" and "Rammstein" and lost and lost more, as long as it has a gituar drums and vocals in it , mostly already named here. But the most heaviest things I listen to (and still like )  are:
"Chimaira" and "Bullet for my valentine" and "Cradle of Filth"
But I don't know if that's metal, heavy metal, death metal or black metal is I don't give a bleep as long as it's rocking

Actually, if you want to get technical, none of it is metal. Apart from perhaps Cradle of Filth, and some Metallica (even though I hate the band), but I wouldn't argue for or against them being metal either way.

Cradle is Black metal so they definately are metal, from Dani Filth's own mouth when I met him after a gig "We just wanna play some f***ing hard metal tunes"

Also adding Obituary, Opeth, Nazareth and As Your C*** Slowly Bleeds to the mix, some bands I been listening to recently.

COF is hardly black metal.. They are far too flashy and melodic to be black.. For a black metal example or three, I'd name Immortal, Darkthrone (the old stuff) and Kampfar (a bit more viking'ish than the two others though).

Some call their genre "extreme gothic metal", and I tend to agree, even though the gothic part is a bit off imo. I like to compare them with Dimmu Borgir, even though I hold Dimmu in higher regard than COF.

No it isn't.

Black metal is "simple", noisy, gritty and most of them tend to focus on live performances (some don't perform live though). The "true" stuff, as us metal heads like to call it, is often underground and often has bad production. Most black metal of old started out that way, most new true black metal does too. The bad production is  part of the reason why it is defined as "simple", noisy and gritty. For a perfect example of this, try finding some of the free media the band called Svartpest has lying around.

I don't see a reason in comparing symphonic extreme metal to technical post thrash though... The old Emperor was black metal, it followed the above "formula", the "new" stuff isn't. Far from it, in my oppinion.

Ok Xalthar, I think everyone gets that you know more about metal then them...can we move on?  Because I don't think anyone really cares as much as you seem to think they do.  Arguments over genres are as annoying as arguments over alignments.

As for the band you recommended zanzibar the vocals kind of get on my nerves, which is usually my problem with metal I like the music but hate the vocals...they do sound like they'd be a much better band to see live, however.
