Blocked ICMP
« on: September 29, 2006, 02:33:12 am »
It seems to me that the client pings the laanx.fragnetics.com server to see if it's available.  Is this true?
My silly school firewall blocks ICMP protocol so I can't ping anything and no one can ping me... but I can get online just fine with any program or game as long as it doesn't need to ping.

If anyone can help that would be great.  For now I'm trying to get a VPN server set up at home so I can connect to it and bypass this firewall.

Oh, if there is a way to make the client connect without actually pinging laanx.fragnetics.com that would be great.  Maybe trick it somehow.

Thanks

AFAIK we don't use ICMP pings. It is a normal UDP message like any other messages that the client and server send out.
