Spam PMs from user "Dean Kelly" now known as "Long Duc Dong"
« on: October 04, 2006, 07:36:17 am »
Since I see that almost eveyone else online right now is recieving the spam message from this user, I've passed the info onto the forum admins.  Feel free to just delete the message.  So far i've recieved the message 3 times now.  I'm going to conclude that it's either a bot, or someone asking for a beating.  The only thing I can't do right now is get to IRC to see if either of the admins are curently online, so if someone would like to do that, feel free to.

Thanks

Zanzibar suggested a how-to on ignoring PMs from problem users like this, thus:

Go into your profile and click on the Personal Message Options in the menu sidebar. From there type the member name into your Ignorelist, and hit "Change profile." You don't need to use quotation marks around the name if it has two or more words, just type away.

Don't bother doing anything but deleting PM spam - a forum admin will wave the Banninating Stick of Bannination ASAP.

its your forums do something

If I could snap my fingers and automatically fix everything that's ever wrong, I would definitely do it. Unfortunately sometimes you're going to have to be patient.

Thanks Venge!

Likewise. I'm going to delete this as you have no use of them for informal purposes.
Good luck, admins :]

It might help if the admins install this mod  http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=277 to help keep bots away.
