I've played Tibia, Runescape, and Pristontale.

They all sucked.

For blowing things up, I just play multiplayer first person shooters.  If you just want to kill things, why bother with levelling?

There's also Subspace Continuum which I first played in the mid 90's and is still around today.  It's an online multiplayer arcade game which is really really addictive.  It's definately worth checking out if the phrase "head to head comet busters" interests you.

Strange topic name, since there aren't two categories like World of Warcraft, and... the others. In my opinion WoW is an average MMORPG, with a community formed mostly from 15 y.o. kids. Mehh. Ohh, and the last South Park episode about it was pretty nice. And true hahahah.

:innocent:

As for a very good MMORPG, I strongly recommand EVE Online. Great game, great community, great everything. I play it for about two years now, and even if it needs that monthly fee, it worths it. I think I've made a topic about it some time ago, my question is still "up to date", anyone playing it?

I think NWN2 will be better than the most. Never bothered playing other MMORPGs besides PS, since I kinda like it. For wacking fun I play FPSs as well, and from time to time warcraft III the best online game ever.

And as far as WoW is considered... Blizzard doesn't make average games. Well, it did for Genesis, but let's forget that.
There's a reason why South Park made a parody out of it. There's a reason why 15 y.o. are thrilled about it. You don't see other MMORPGs being such a topic. In fact, were it not for the monthly fee I would be probably be playing WoW right now :P.

Currently playing Project Entropia (now "Entropia Universe"). I've played Runescape, Rubies of Eventide, Anarchy Online and all those jiggy wiggy games no one knew about until ½ a year ago when mmorpg's actually became popular;)

I've played WoW and some other game. I can't remember what it's called. Plateskip?Panesip? Ah, probably nothing important ;)

I've sniffed on Ryzom but I haven't really given it enough tim to try it out, been in Eve. Was a bit younger when I tested it so I got bored quick :)

Le'see...Dransik, popped up in my head, was supposed to be an ambitious project. Wonder how it's going. I've played Tibia, it's become worse and I got tired of always hiring my friend as a body guard :l

Sangwa, Wow is a great game. The mediocrity of the build fits everyone which makes and made it popular. Blizzard's given us a game which fits every soul, you don't have to be good at anything to be good at it, just have the right gear and the right skills.

I see four people owning Guild Wars, we should start a Planeshift guild in there :P

"They" wouldn't delete anything in GW, because they don't have the rules we do :] WoW is not free, it requires a monthly fee. It's GuildWars that's free to play online.

this is not true, you can totally tell when some dutch dickhead is in your group.... or an 'isreal' for that matter. there's a certain mindset to some of the rolls, and sometimes people with even great gear are crap... they just get whisked throught 40mans sitting in pre-established raid guilds doing nothing.

Ya they would immediatly delete that...well if WoW is all free then i guess ill update with expansions and try playing again

and, im sorry - but where did you find your basis for these conclusions?

Interesting, ryzom says the trial has no time limit, no xp limit, yet it's a trial. And 1.8 GB's, don't look like no trial :P

Is it gonna be like that one R something game. Trial people get one city, payers get an entire world of fun. If it is, then I'll forget it. If it isn't, then damn I'm in. Looks kewl.

Like I said, the Ryzom trial is of the newbie lands :] You have no limit there - but to get to the mainland, you have to pay up. This is the one game I so very badly want to find a free server for >.> The community is really one of the best I've seen, too.

Well... The Blitzers already have a presence in GuildWars. My GW character is rather low on the level-o-meter, but it's rather stress-relieving to go and kill things once in a while with it ;] Unfortunately my guild is mostly asians except for the one person that recruited me... so I never see them >.>

WoW is fun but I may have to cancel my account... I don't feel like I have enough time to play it to justify the price :\

* josephoenix looks at other games mentioned

I played project entropia \o not for very long though. I found Ryzom through Nevrax when I was looking for "open source MMORPG" (which is also how I found PlaneShift). I'm not sure how many people know, but their framework for saga of ryzom is opensource. Cool stuff.

Guildwars all the way, nothing can replace that for me :D still probably the biggest addict out there :P

ohw and Incensio also exists in there for a very long time allready with almost no people from PS in there :O ( Aldarion, Sep, Faldrok and myself are about the only ones left from the PS time )
