i've never understood how people can sit GW and WoW next to each other and not just faint at the sight of WoW... especially at a time like this with TBC on the horizon...

Drey, I understand you like WoW. But face the reality, others don't. Everyone with his own opinion about the game. And as for me, yeah, I simply don't like the concept of the game. It's pure crap, beginning from the management of the servers (pvp server? x server? y server? c'mon!) and finishing with the community.

Oh well, it is Warcraft, and oh yeah, Blizzard sure got money from it. Good for them. This doesn't mean we should all play it.

Drey, don't put the games next to eachother, you can't compare them no matter how you try cuz GW isn't an MMORPG but an MCORPG which makes a big difference.
and the models in guildwars look better, they have lingerie and stuff which WoW lacks.

I play both but i hate WoW for one simple reason, whenever i want to play the server is either down, has an immence queue, is having updates or idiots around you that start to annoy you.

In guildwars you have your own mission area so a LVL 20 can't run infront of your face and riun your quest all the time by killing all the monster you have to kill or by killing the one person you have to talk to all the time, IMO a friendlier play environment with lots of things to keep you occupied for a long ammount of time ( Try getting all pieces of obsidian armor )

one of my biggest things going against Gw has always been that i think it looks [bleep] :p

never really had any of that myself, except for the odd wednessday. but yeah, blizz do need to learn to server. since the 'upgrades' though its got better, only real problem was the horde alliance imbalance - cross realm pvp has fixed that though.

and annah, the others suck. :O as for the community, look in the right places and its good.

Now i have to agree on the dutch people, they are in general tards in the game(s) same goes for germans and russians.

Somehow they are all to lazy to talk english and then when something goes wrong they blame you ( in near unperfected english ).

No not on a discrimination spree here it's just what my findings where, i'd rather PVP with the koreans since they in general don't mess-up and they are very clear how to do what.

And wasn't this a thread on games BESIDES WoW instead of how (uber) cool WoW is... (not pointing to drey at all )

Well the reason i took a LOONg break from PS is a MMORPG called Shadowbane . At first i was not really sure about it , since there seemed to be no RP at all , but then again the game provides a system where players can build buildings , towns , rule kingdoms , hire NPC`s for all sorts of purposes (indirect crafting if you want , as you controll the crafting functions of ..say the elven heavy armor smith you hired to the lvl where you can "tell" him to craft a "xy heavy breastplate of xy" . That will in terms cost money and resources ...a lot of resource types in game but that`s a different story) , then there is the part of sieges , player run guilds or nations (multiple guilds can unite to form a ation) can lay siege and raze or conquer enemy towns . Basicaly the game provides a lot of RTS elements from a MMORPG perspective...

well...enough allready...one last thing , it`s free ..

I have played WoW, City of Heroes (CoH) and Siebenwind so far.
City of Heroes is a great game were you play a Super-Heroe, but it is not free and gets a little bit repetitive after a while.
Siebenwind is a german UO-freeshard with a unique map/story/etc. It is a heavy-rp game and really fun if you like to rp (you have to write at least one A4 page background-story for your char for him to be approved)
I think WoW needs no further comments in this thread ;-)

Yeah, the way someone plays a game and/or speaks English is dependant on his character and education, and not on their nationality. If you say that "All German, Dutch and Russian people are n00bs, then something is very, very wrong with you. Get a proper education yourself.
