Grrrrr ... Where does the time zone hide?
« on: October 12, 2006, 02:21:39 pm »
??? I have spent a half hour just looking at the options for my account but I cannot for the life of me find where I can change my time zone. It is off by two hours and I would like to change it to the right time zone. Can anyone tell me where I can click to go to this feature? Or is it maybe once we make the account we cannot change the time?

I posted this instead of pming for others future reference just in case they might have the same question.

just a guess, but it is probably the time zone the server is in...  WRONG

There is a place you can modify the clock in edit profile > Look and Layout Preferences > Time Offset

I did check "Look and Layout Preferences" but no such luck unless I missed it. Which is entirely possible. As for the link it doesn't work. It claims "Error has occured!"

I remember when I made my account having the option to pick my time zone. I assumed that I could change it if I picked wrong.  I mean surely you can right? Gah ...... now it is going to bug me.  :(

That was only available on the old forums. We changed forum servers, remember?

On Look and Layout Preferences, this should appear:

Quote
Time Offset:
Number of hours to +/- to make displayed time equal to your local time.

together with a sample of the actual time, so you know the value you've to put in the offsett box.
I guess this means it won't automatically switch the time for daysaving reasons.
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

I was able to change it.  I should have researched before opening my mouth...

edit profile > Look and Layout Preferences > Time Offset

I put a 3 in there to add 3 hours to server clock.

::| Duh ... of course I remember. Hence me asking where it might be on these forums. :/  Thanks for the spam. I have my daily intake now. Could have used a little more "I try to dumb people down sauce" just for that dramatic effect.

[Edit] Sorry Nilrem & minetus I forgot to put your names before I posted  :-[
