yey, problems! aaa, help? tips?
« on: October 16, 2006, 06:55:59 pm »
Heya.

I've recently changed to a socket 939 mb and an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ cpu. I've decided to also format my hdd and leave Windows Server 2003 behind, and install Windows Xp, and now might be the time for it...

All good and pretty, until I've started a game (NFS Most Wanted). The game starts, the sound can be heard, but nothing can be viewed, all is black. Though, the monitor stays "on". I have a SyncMaster 710N btw.

My video card is a Leadtek 6600GT, and I had the newest drivers from nvidia (91.47). I thought it's from them, so I've erased them and installed older ones (81.85), but nothing...

Everything works, movies, more simple games and anything. But at "more serious" games, even if the sound can be heard, meaning the game is working, the screen stays black. I've even used Driver Cleaner Pro, and installed drivers again. Nothing.

What do you guys think? Uhh...

Thanks in advance,
Antonio.

I think you should check that games website for updates/support. If you have a problem with Planeshift you might find more help here. You might want to try the 64bit version of xp but I think that might just compound your problems.

It's not from the game, it happens with any other one. I still don't get it, and it seems no one knows. Windows XP pfff... I think I'll go back to 2003.

Nevermind, the genius in me solved the problem.

It's ok, now I have problems with the clarity of the sound. I so "love" Windows XP.
